Hearing the interest is very much there for Salvio. Looks a top player but should cost around 18m

Lots of examples there of quick reactions and good anticipation. Obviously hard to tell from just watching a youtube vid but looks the sort of player who would be good against packed defences. I would prefer that type of player to one who hits 30 yard screamers in all honesty. Interesting option.

He's a 12m player at the most. Not good enough to start for us.
He's a RW and not better than Lennon

He is clearly a better attacker than Lennon.

Watch the clip. He goes up for a cross and wins it and it leads to a Cardoza header. LENNON can't win a header!

Beating my drum again. Our sweet little Lennon is a squad player at best, he is not a Prem starter especially in a side that lacks goals.

Plus if you watched the video, it is clear that this kid doesn't give up. Half his goals were second chance, never quit type goals.

I've seen quite a lot of him, and I think he is a good player. Physically strong and works hard for the team, think he would like the PL. Good experience and performances in the CL as well. He was very highly touted about 4-5 years ago and Atletico splashed a lot of cash on him. Failed to live up to hype but went to Benfica and has found his mojo a little more.

I am a little confused, are people rating players of 4 min YouTube clips? Anyone can be made to look like Messi in a YouTube clip and this guys isn't even that good. I watched a few Benfica games in the past as I was really hoping we would go for N Gaitan at one point but I was never that impressed by Salvio in the games I saw. Nothing that really made me sit up and certainly never looked better then Bernard. I admit that I haven't seen enough of him to make a complete judgment but from what I have seen 18mil is way, way to much.

I don't need to watch the video. I've seen him live several times.
He goes missing a lot of time. He did that at Atl. Madrid and he still does it at Benfica

Are there any players (other than ours) valued at < £18m?

Was thinking the same, shit, apart from bale and Lloris we can't get a bag of sand for any of our we just end up releasing them!

Goes missing? You are talking about Lennon man. Lennon rarely shows up on the offensive end. His attack is only at its best when he is healthy. And he is rarely healthy.

I think we forget that we are trying to switch our style of play. Lennon doesn't fit into that equation as soundly anymore. Sure he is a valuable asset, but a creative wide player he is not. Goals is what we need.

Fine, you don't like Lennon. That doesn't make Salvio good enough. Have you watched anything of him other than that youtube video??
