Anyway, my onion is that if AVB maybe allowed the players to express themselves a bit more then things would get a lot better.

just my onion I don't feel Paulinho/Dembele work, it has to one or the other for that box to box midfield role with a DM, with a DM playing it gives the others freedom to roam and not worry what's behind them when Sandro came on yesterday Paul and CE pushed on and took the game to Newcastle

Yeah, I think they need a bit of freedom. With Lamala, Erikson and Holtby we have players that could roam the pitch, being a bit inventive. I would like to see them being given that chance.

How many goals have we score from playing with inverted wingers this season?

I don't know but we have a load of penalties from playing this system. And you have to say that the penalties must be counted as a penalty is a result of being denied a clear goal scoring opportunity.
