I thought he should have got a massive ban for it tbh as against a different set of fans it could have gone horribly wrong. Can you imagine him doing that at Millwall, Cardiff or West Ham....

But it's OK for Henry to do the same thing against Spurs? Surely that's worse?

Bad loser or just a winner?

You make it sound like being a bad loser/winner is a bad thing, yet Harry is geting slated in another thread for being a good loser.

Where the fuck do i say being a bad loser is bad????:bang:

Just cos your a mod doesn't mean we have to agree with you....
You got narked with the defoe thing and now your trying to blow me out...your barking up the wrong tree.

Sorry ELY wasn't necessarily directing that at you, just found it interesting as in the past Gallas has been criticised for being a bad loser, but now he's being applauded, and Harry's attitude is being criticised.

I have no problems with players celebrating, but running the length of the pitch to celebrate infront of the opposition fans is stupid. Especially when you used to play for that club. From his interview he seems like he may have matured alot since then, but I will never find that funny. Fowler snorting the touchline? Commical, Arshavin tell the opposition to be quiet? Acceptable. KPB dancing like a twat when he has scored? Funny. Doing an 'Adebayor'? Stupid and irresponsible

No, sorry, i'm with adam, i found it hilarious. If he'd not had to run the full length of the pitch and had just turned and taunted them then yeah, silly, but the showmanship took it beyond that - the slide on the knees with his palms upwards, arms outstretched, through a hail of lighters and coins, that just made it all the more special

I don't ever remember the same reactions when Henry did it to us.

Henry didn't used to play for us, and remember, Adebayor wasn't exactly popular amongst the Woolwich fans anyway. I imagine he felt he owed them something for the total lack of faith they showed in him.

I thought he should have got a massive ban for it tbh as against a different set of fans it could have gone horribly wrong. Can you imagine him doing that at Millwall, Cardiff or West Ham....

Ifs and buts - he didn't do it at a bunch of psycho fans, he did it against the Woolwich who can't even raise their voices to cheer their team, and it only took about 3 stewards to hold back a hundred of them.

fair enough...but if you read carefully , i was praising Gallas for being a bad loser.

hence i said 'thats all' in fact i hate it when players aren't bad losers.

Worried that Arsenal and City didn't want him

Would be perfect for us though

Adebayor is what we need at the end of the day, if we can get him we should. What about wages though, would he take a big hit on them?

I think he'a matured a bit, so perhaps the questionnable attitude isn't such a risk now.

Personally loved his celebration, absolute quality

I thought the comments about Mourinho and Wenger were interesting. Best manager you have worked under ?: "Mourinho. Wenger is a brilliant manager but Mourinho makes you want to lay down your life to win for him. Everyone is left in no doubt exactly what they have to do and how they must do it. He put me on the bench for the (copa del rey) final , but I still wanted to die for him to win that trophy". (I paraphrase)

If he really was close to signing for us then the wages wasn't an issue, gotta be a pay cut.

Those comments tell you why Mourinho is such a great manager.

If the guy didn't have the appetite to work hard at City, why would people suddenly think he'll push himself at Spurs?

As a said before, talent wise and what he could bring to us he is what we need but I've got more than reservations about his character and his willingness to fight for the cause.

I know but the intent was the same and henry wasn't exactly popular with us
