One guy said it'd be the 1st time during wengers reign NLD's will be 50/50 games. Don't we have the better PL record against them during the redknapp reign?

Why can't we buy him outright? If he does well and then leaves us at the end of the season, that is no good at all.

Worry about that next summer. For the moment, having Adebayor for a year is a great option and one that should be jumped at.

Yeah we haven't a league game against them since he took charge.

we've lost 1 I think.

4-4 (A) - his 2nd game
0-0 (H) - wilsons immense debut
0-3 (A) - embarrasing fabregas solo goal
2-1 (H) - rose goal
2-3 (A) - epic comeback
3-3 (H) - hudd piledriver

I'd rather worry about it now, I would hate to see another Klinnsman situation. Prolific strikers are hard to come by.

On the other hand we could find ourselves in City's position (one that is already quite familiar) with an expensive lump on our hands and no one to take him off us.

You have to look at it as if we can't afford to buy him, we can't buy him, so this one year becomes a freebie - whilst we look for a proper solution.

Given his history this seems like a perfect solution.

I'm sure Levy will have negotiated some sort of clause where we have the option to sign him at the end of the season. Maybe that is what the hold up has been with it. The loan gives us the freedom to spend more money now and maybe bring in one or two other big players.

Would love it if we could get the Adebayor deal done either today or tomorrow, prior to the Hearts game. I know he can't play in that one, but it would be great to give the players a boost going into that game, knowing we mean business at last.

And to have Adebayor up front against United on Monday gives us cause for optimism. I couldn't see us beating them at Old Trafford with our current strikeforce, but with Adebayor I'd feel we'd have a chance.

The one we really need to shift is Bentley. Massive wages.

Levy needs to take a big cut on him too.

If we're getting 2 forwards - Adebayor and Ruiz/Rossi, we can shift both of Crouch and Defoe too - both also high earners. It'll be the last time we'll be able to command £7m+ for either of them.

I think Defoe can still get that kind of money next summer providing he bangs in 10-15 goals this time round. I agree about Crouch though.

Ideally i think in terms of team balance we'll add Adebayor and another striker (Ruiz looking likely) and then sell Defoe in Jan.

can Adebayor make the squad for Hearts if he signs today? Maybe give him 30-45 mins for match fitness?

Possibly - the deadline for registering the 25-man squad was 8th Aug, but we are allowed to add one new name up to midnight today (CET). Whether we can register him with the FA in time to make the midnight UEFA deadline is the problem.

No adabayor cannot play against hearts.

Did I not read somewhere on SC that the announcement will be Thursday?
