I don't feel any sympathy for Johnson at all, but as has been said already, people get less than this for rape and violent crimes. I also think she played her part in what happened according to some reports.

And as for her playing her part, legally that simply doesn't matter. Much as in the initial Ched Evans verdict where she was deemed not able to consent by reason of being drunk, she couldn't have consented to any of this by virtue of her being underage.

And it's not as if she lied about her age. Johnson knew what he was doing and who he was doing it with so saying 'she played her part' doesn't really help him.

Wow, mental. 6 years is over the top IMO. He didn't have sex with the girl. Didn't a teacher get spared jail recently having had sex (regularly) with a student?

And you only end up going down for three years if you kill someone behind the wheel after fifteen pints...

But perhaps we should be chastising the weak sentences for those other crimes rather than saying Johnson should get less.

As others have said he probably won't serve 6 anyway, unless of course he treats his time in there in much the same way he appears to have treated the trial.

That was really my point. He'll do half his sentence I'd imagine. On your subsequent post, I know her apparent compliance is irrelevant to the crime committed but I think it shows how stupid Johnson was to get so involved. There could be some debate about who was grooming who to start with. As I said before though, absolutely no sympathy for him at all.

Edit: Sky News say the searches were for child teen sex websites, but there was nothing there to suggest search for underage images.
