If he doesn't take this low point with the professionalism that is demanded of him right now and use it as a starting point to get his shit together, then he will also find himself out of the limelightat WHL.

Good post.

Do I deserve to be deported for wanting Carson to make a huge mistake?

Ha, deport you sir!!

I'll still be cheering on Carson and Co tonight but just worried about Robbos state of mind now for Spurs. It's probably wise to now have him on the bench as it will be pretty obvious that the guy must be distraught and they'll need someone focussed to come on if he has to.

I just really hope we can get him back at spurs as quickly as possible and get him back in confidence and motivated to prove McLaren wrong!! Starting with West Ham Sunday!!

I don't give a monkey's about England. I am not supporting a team with Sol Campb@$l in it! Maclaren is a total mug, he has stuck with Robbo when he has been shit and now that he has turned the corner he has dropped him.

I hope Carson has an elm street and the Campbell bum bandits lose by 5!

I can't believe that I actually cried when we lost to Holland in Rotterdam and failed to qualify for the 1994 world cup?

England are a joke!

I am spurs first, last and everywhere in between!

I dont think he deserves to be in the England team at tjis point in time, so its no surprise to me really.

In fact, the longer he is out of the England team and spotlight, the better for his form i think. The less games, means the leass mistakes he makes which means the more confident he'll become.

Cerny against Wet Spam then, if Robbo's pulled a sicky.

His own fault if he's moaned. It's the same apparent arrogance and self-delusion that's stopped him from working on all the faults in his game over the last couple of years, or so we're led to believe.

I can understand Robbo being dropped at the lowest point of his form, but it is clear that he is getting back to his former self and gaining confidence (which the lack of was mainly responsible for his bad performances). It's a clear sign that McLaren lacks any judgemental or observational skills if he makes this decision now, rather then earlier.

Sadly I can see England putting in a sub-par defensive and underwhelming performance (like many of McLaren's teams) and we'll suffer for it.

Trust McLaren to fuck up things when they're given to him on a plate.

I totally disagree. I see England putting in a monumental performance, destroying Croatia and Crouch probably netting a hat trick.

But this will obviously be detrimental. We will finish top of our group, and all the massive cracks in this very average England team will be papered over once again. They will be lauded in the papers as the boys to bring home the Euro trophy where we will lose on penalties to a sub-par team.

Oh, and just before Euro 2008 the FA will give a contract extension to McClaren, because they went to Ldbrokes and saw that England are joint favourites to bring home the trophy.

Paul Robinson will play no part in England's vital Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia on Wednesday after being dropped by coach Steve McClaren. BBC Sport understands that Aston Villa's Scott Carson will play instead of the Spurs man, with David James as the goalkeeper on the Wembley bench.

Poor Robbo. But hopefully this will make him stronger and he'll be back at England's No1 for Euro 2008.

get his shit together

Get his shit together? See this is the problem, he'd be fine I believe if it weren't for people saying he's the one with the problem. AFAIK he's made on mistake since he's been at Spurs. Ok he hasn't pulled off as many wonder saves as he used to but I believe the way back to his best would be for people to get behind him. With our support I believe that it'll lift Robbo and the team

Camaj, the generic term - "getting one's shit together" - is insinuating that our Robbo takes stock of his predicament, gets his head down, redoubles his intensities on the training park and damn well wins back what is his by his own high standards. If he declines to do so and starts feeling injuries...and hard done by, then we are getting nowhere and that's when Spurs get the shitty stick.

Why not...??

First of all I don't rate quite a few of the players. Secondly I support Spurs ahead of England, and there are no Spurs players there, thirdly football is Entertainment, and asmuch as I love my country I want to watch good football. Portugal and Holland will be the teams I am "Fan" of.

But i agree with Flatter what's the point in dropping Robbo in the final game of the qualifying campaign when you've stuck by him all this time.
Because you should do what you think is right for each, individual game, and this one's quite important?

McClown is a joke. when robbo was conceeding left right and centrehe said that robbo was 1st choice no matter what, now robbo keeps 3 clean sheets in 4 games (i know its not much but its an improvment none the less) and the only goal he does conceed is a 25 yard rocket that cant be stopped he drops him. the man is a joke, he should be dropped not robbo.

it's like the whole bentley thing aswell. he said that he rang him and told him he was out of order etc etc thats why he didn't make the 1st squad after the u21's championship, then the squad after that he picks him. i just cant trust a man that had boro fans throwing there season tickets in his face, there not excatly used to sucess up there and even they thought he was shit
