It now means we have to finish above utd who are 6 points ahead (7 effectively with goal difference) and liverpool. Thats going to be very tough

There's no chance in hell we're making top 4. That ship sailed weeks ago.

That's 3 cracking goals, they are so poor at the back. Why does Rogers play Henderson out wide, they're missing his energy in there.

Beating Liverpool for fifth would do fine, the top four ship sailed away for good at Old Trafford.

Our only hope of top four is Utd or Arsenal completely messing up and us going on an exceptional run. Can't see it happening.

This season I'll happily take, best of the rest.

I was maybe hoping for top four still but even if we win 7 of our last 8 its still going to be very tight. Thats not going to happen anyway. I would think we will win 5 of the last 8 at best. If tim gets villa well up against utd today and gets a point ill forgive him and there will be renewed hope

Going to stick a tenner on Arsenal winning the league to soften the blow.

Agreed, but utd have Man city and Chelsea in the next 2 games. Big if, but if we win the next 3 games we could well be level with them with 5 games to go

Arsenal's current form is probably the best in Europe at the moment. They are playing football at a very high level. They will spend heavily this summer to put them in a bracket with Chelsea and City, and can add 1-2 players of Sanchez/Ozil calibre (Cavani? Lacazette? Schneiderlin?). With United spending 150+ million again, the race for top 4 next season may be over on paper by September.

I agree with the arsenal thing. They are not only winning well but when they need to grind out results they are doing it. What i dont agree with is big spending will be good for them. They have a good settled side at the minute, whos to say a couple of big names coming in makes that better. On paper it should be better but not necessarily. Also, the utd spend this summer. We all knew they would spend big, but again theyve already spent big and its hasnt made them the utd of old.

I look at us and think that a few tweaks is all we need and let 5-6 go. Just look at what a settled team has done for southampton who have lost their best players and most of this season is because of pochettino. Im excited about having poch in charge for the pre season and i fully trust that he knows what he wants to do and think levy will back him
