A player of Dier's ilk is so critical for this club going forward. Think back to United's successful teams when Fergie would regularly have the likes of O'Shea, Butt, Fletcher etc, players who don't always get the plaudits but have the attitude, desire and professionalism that provide the basis of success.

We absolutely need to keep him.

Dier has been an absolute rock for this club. Almost never injured, I'm pretty sure he will have played more games for us across the last two seasons, than any other player in our squad.

He was the one that came out and said in a post match interview that the squad had heard about Spurs being soft and that they didn't like the reputation and wanted to change that perception. A bit of a rallying call at the time, almost two years back.

He may have made some mistakes this season, but for such a young guy he straddles that position of CB/DM with a lot of savvy and aplomb and he will continue to mature and get even better the older he gets.

He's always there for the physical battle, and always there to support and defend our own players if there's tackles flying in/nonsense going on.

For me, last season, he was the literal on the pitch exemplification of what Poch is all about. Wanyama may have come in and taken some of that away slightly, as a player Pochettino has always trusted, but he has been ever present again this season, and is absolutely a key figure in the future of this team.

I agreed with the poster above about a Dier, except for comparing him to the likes O'Shea, Butt et al. There's a reason why the likes of Bayern Munich have previously sniffed around, along with the usual PL stinking rich clubs now doing so. Whilst those players WERE under appreciated cogs in Man Utd teams, Dier can be so much more.

Losing him would be an absolute catastrophe, imo, and I don't think it will be allowed to happen.

No way Poch is letting Dier leave. I see him as a potential future captain. Has that never say die attitude, never backs down from the physical challenge of the game when it's required. We would be mad to let a player who can play several positions leave and plays with a maturity well beyond his 23 years. He'll be here next season.

Still not convinced tbh .Can look so slow and ponderous at times you almost wanna shake him to wake up .Starting to think he's just a utility squad player going forward and will never really master one position .

am a big fan of Dier and believe he is essential to any Spurs team as we can change formations so easily whilst he is on pitch - but today for England he was very slow and ponderous (not that he was the only one!)
