I hope not. I want to see at least one more season of him, as they say on fifa 15 "he has that special something"

Dont know how true this is but I would like to see him gone. I have long called him flattery man and had been given negative ratings as I have called him as I see it. I'm not going to look at his reputation, I will only look at what he has done for us and now he has been given enough time in my book. I dont think he will impress in this league though some people go OTT about the limted things he has done. Actions speak louder than words and if it is the fact the club are willing to move him on (as he has already been dropped and only bought back due to no viable alternative), that will be as it has been decided he isnt suitable for this league.
The thing that could hitch this is Levys valuation.

I am ashamed to say I have completely given up on him. He just seems too slow and too weak for the Premiership. He flatters to deceive and is sloppy with the basics. I hope I proved wrong, but I do wonder whether if he had come through the academy and was called Tom Carroll or Alex Pritchard, whether we would even see him in the First XI.

If we get a good deal and have a realistic set of excellent target replacements in mind then it would make sense. He's not done it for us but still has value in Italy.

I doggedly stuck with the lad for 18 months or so but if we can get £15 millionish I would drive him out to Milan myself. I kept telling myself he has got something but I'll be jiggered if I know what that something is.

I initially read it as "Erik Lamela to be offered new contract"

A great name, Argentinian caps, cool tattoos, £25 million price tag. Three league goals in two seasons.

LOL Do you really think Levy will sell him at a 9/10 million loss?

For me, the experiment doesn't seem to be working. I'd keep him on for another season, but equally if we could recoup most of our outlay I would let him go too.

The question is do we take a hit now and cut our losses, or maintain some belief in him in the hope that he somehow reaches a level commensurate with his fee/wages - not necessarily to sell him, but simply to see some performance level that would justify his record signing status.

Do you think he'll keep him until the entirety of his transfer fee and wages are burned for minuscule return? Because at the moment, there is some fear that he could be a Bentley-scale disaster. I've read that his contract expires in the summer of 2017 - two seasons left - and that'll play a role in what happens this summer.

I'm not that animated by either side of the debate. It's fine if he stays and hopefully he'll kick on to a much better standard than we've seen so far at Spurs. But I'd also take a 10 million loss on him if another club was willing to stump that amount up. I suspect there are 15 million pound players out there who would make a better go of it with Spurs than Lamela has in his two seasons.

Levy is capable of doing just that, there are people like Paulinho and Soldado to get rid of, if we do manage to get rid of them it will be at a big loss. Levy will not want to add too much to it.

Fuck I'll drive him to the airport myself.
Will never ever ever amount to anything in this league as long as he has a arsehole.
Id snap their bloody hands off if they offer 10m nevermind 15.
Another season in the PL and he wont be going anywbere because no one will want him.
Go. Please. Just go. And fkin take Baldini and Soldado with ya.

If we are to sell and get back reasonable money, it has to be this summer. If he stays on and doesn't explode into star material next season, we will not get what we want. So it's essentially a gamble whether to sell now or hope he comes really good next term.

Next season will be an improvement from this one if he stays. Worthy of 1 more season IMO.
What, you mean he'll score 2goals?
A man with one leg would be a improvement so thats not much of an ask is it.
Been here 2 seasons already ffs.
I think that's long enough to show what you've got in anybodys book.

Like the boy.
Has plenty of talent and spirit.
Young enough for us to keep and hope he kicks on.
Club's top assister so not a total failure
and he was out for quite a while with injuries.

There's a decent player in there, but I don't think he's suited to the premier league, he doesn't have the pace to play out wide And I prefer eriksen behind the striker

This. We're not going to take that kind of hit all in one go and Lamela is the best bet of all the ones who have underperformed so far. Levy must be having nightmares about shipping Soldado out
