That commentary is dire, clearly anti Tottenham. If that was a united or Liverpool goal we'd never have heard the end of it
A flick that normally doesn’t come off trundles into the net. Are there awards for the shitest commentary?

Totally agree just listen to commentary of any Salah goals for comparison, you notice that Tyler's & Smith commentary on Lamela's goal are forced and not natural at all.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the commentary.
Yes there is. He commentated like it was a tap in during a championship game. It was a NLD and probably the first rabona goal in the PL. He didn’t even change the tone in his voice!

I’ve heard him get MUCH more excited at MUCH lesser quality of goals that didn’t mean anything. My only guess is he didn’t see it properly first time around.

I’m not saying he’s particularly biased towards others, just that his commentary for this goal was absolutely dire. Probably because he didn’t see it properly.

The tone of his voice. That's where this paranoia is now

It’s not paranoia because I don’t think he’s biased. I just think it was a shit bit of commentary. And yes, when a goal is scored, commentators usually raise their voice in some way…..

You’ve had a mare here Mr A&C ?

Edit: just watched it again and he does raise his voice a little. Nowhere near enough for the quality of goal.

We’ve both had a mare.

Considering that any team in the world (I believe?) can win it, that is some achievement for players from the same club to win it back to back!

How does a flick that normally doesn’t come off trundles into the net as the first response not sound so wrong to you?!
Becuase silly count for fuck all things like that don't bother me. And I certainly don't think it's anti-Tottenham. If you think the guy is a bad commentator, that's one thing and fair enough but this anti Tottenham stuff is rubbish. Could his voice have reached a pitch akin to the Diva in the Fifth Element? Maybe, but hey-ho.

It's actually a decent team goal - good crossfield pass to Reguilon, good first time pass inside to Lucas who lays it off for Lamela.

He’s got previous for Stalteri. A cracking game like that gets a last minute winner. His reaction? ‘No!’ He’s a prize twat and should retire. And bring half his co-commentators with him.

I'm usually with you on this sort of thing but Smith's commentary in particular made no sense.

I had a reaction so different to how I usually celebrate a goal that my Mrs thought I'd shit my pants.

One of those goals where you don't care who scored it or what it means, just a moment of beautiful football. I'm sure I remember Henry having a similar reaction of pure joy in the studio.

Let's go for a hat trick for next year. Should Kane somehow score a freekick then that should automatically win.
More likely to be a mis-hit pass from Winks on the halfway line that bends, swerves and dips past Ederson

Honestly? The tone of his voice or reaction to the goal just didn't occur to me. I was more responding to this persistent and wholly inaccurate suggestion that whenever a commentator does or says something someone doesn't like, that it's bias, agenda or whatever else. The pitch of his voice or him failing to cum in his pants over it just didn't occur and I still don't care about that but I take the point.

Looking at it again, I think perhaps there's an element of surprise with a twist of disbelief that he meant it, perhaps. Could he have gotten more excited? Yeah, he could have I suppose but if we're at the stage where people are going to complain about even that and throw 'anti-Tottenham', bias or agenda into the mix then it's getting beyond ridiculous. Poor commentator? Yeah, you can throw that at him, he's been going at it for about fifty years (you'll see his name in the credits for MOTD or the Big Match in the late 60's early 70's) and maybe it's time for someone else to upset the sensitive ones on here ;)
