Before people read the thread title, get suicidal and think he's leaving, here is some of the stuff in the article:

Christian Eriksen has rejected Tottenham’s latest offer of a new contract but remains keen to agree fresh terms.

The Dane’s deal has two more years to run and he turned down the most recent offer, though talks between the parties are expected to continue.

Tottenham have wanted to tie up a new deal for Eriksen, 24, for nearly a year. Eriksen, who joined from Ajax for about £11million in the summer of 2013, earns about £30,000 weekly and is targeting a significant rise. There remains, however, optimism on both sides that the deal will eventually be done.

Thanks for putting it into perspective:)

Deserves to be one of our top earners. Pay the man!

Reading that it doesn't seem we should be too worried yet. I just hope we don't mess him around for long though.

80k and he is worth every penny. If we want the likes of Winks to develop we need to keep people like Eriksen around the team.

I'm not annoyed he turned it down, that's how these things go, we'll find the middle ground where all parties are happy.

I am however, annoyed that you capped the C in contract.

That makes me really angry.

I wouldn't be surprised if all our players want more money after seeing Adebayor on 100k a week.

I'm amazed we signed him on such low wages to be honest, considering it was only 3 years ago and he was one of the rising stars in Europe. Shows the negotiation power of Levy, I suppose.

He's one of the most important players in the team, it's time to treat him like that.

Playing by the rules of modern football economics: he is severely underpaid. Should be nearer to 100k. I'm sure we will settle an agreement. I see Eriksen here for at least another two/three seasons

I really don't get the Eriksen love in on this board

He is a good player but away from set pieces his game is limited and he goes missing a lot

We should pay him nowhere near 100k a week
