i feel for Capoue... Really like him, no-nonsense kind of midfielder, wins the ball gives it to some one more creative. everything i want in a ball winning midfielder. But Sherwood really rates Bentaleb, seems to be his go to player. guess you gotta trust him and his decision.

think it's pretty in fashion for managers to use younger players... Rogers used Sterling alot when he took over liverpool, same with Moyes and Januzaj, and with Martinez and Barkley.
http://espnfc.com/player/_/id/186432/adnan-januzaj
freshens up the team and inspiring the younger and reserve players in the club that they too could have a chance in the first team.

I don't know whether it has been posted as I can't be bothered to read the whole thread. But on matchday against Palace @SpursOfficial tweeted a picture of 3 shirts hanging in the changing room (they tend to do this quite a lot as its a way of giving people team news on matchday prior to kick off).

One of the shirts was Capoue's and low and behold he is not in the squad.
I have checked their tweets again and the tweet and picture have been deleted!

He was among the subs though.

I would hope Van Gaal wants take a closer look on the training ground rather than ok'ing deals from Holland of surplus players. Anyway I don't think he will get Van Gaal he's too strong a personality for DL to handle.

On another note if we sell Capoue it leaves us very light at CB. A position he can cover.

Oh Timmy Timmy all you need to do is bring in a LB but you want everyone to know your the man so you want a January revolution. God your a thick bastard.

You obviously didn't watch the Liverpool game, then.

If Sherwood seriously sticks with Bentaleb over Capoue then I am worried about him as our manager. I'm all for giving the youth a chance but not when it affects the quality of the team. Capoue at present is a better player and should be partnering Demebele in midfield.

So I really believe IF we sell him it has more to do with professionalism, laziness etc. .

Not really, when did we become a club that buys great players...dont play them and then sell them when they havent had a chance? Its totally embarrassing if true And not what i want to see from us.

Whats camp and really cringe is actually not adding to the conversation and wasting effort trying to be a dick to another member. Find better things to do with your time :)

Sorry it just reminded me of something that Cameron would of said on Modern Family...........

Really like Capoue and think he had a great start to his spurs career before injury. However Bentaleb has played well and would be harsh to criticise TS for playing him so far.

The reason I don't want to lose him is different however, and its due to depth. He is only our second natural DM, and part of four (maybe 5 with Bentaleb) strong combative CMs of which two should make up the base in a 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or even the current 4-4-2.

My issue is as follows: Sandro and Dembele tend to be quite injury prone and Paulinho is strongly linked with Real Madrid. There really is no reason to shift Capoue or we will face depth issues next season.

I struggle to believe Capoue has a terrible attitude as he seems to have been fine by AVB who seems to fall out with these types easily...

In all honesty I think it's poor man management from Tim. Even if he sees Bentaleb as a better option long-term you've got to ease him in gradually and still start Capoue most of the time who at the moment is a more complete player when you take into account his defensive qualities. What do you expect when he's marginalised as soon as Tim walked through the door?

I don't think Nabil would have been unhappy at all to make a few sub appearances considering he'd never featured under AVB.

Whereas i believe it's Levy trying to recoup some money by means of player sales and a reduced wage bill. A manager can NEVER have a big enough squad.
All the signs are there; Levy appoints his right hand man as manager; Defoe gone; Holtby going; Lamela linked; Tim coming out with all this crap about Capo and others being lazy, blah blah blah.
Bentaleb is going to be a superstar one day, no doubt about it, but i feel that under Sherwood we are going to see less player purchases, but more coming up through the ranks. This is Levy's dream, the reason why he built the shiny new training centre.
I'm not saying i'm against it, but i fucking will be if he sells Capo and Lamela!!!

What when Paulinho is back? And Sandro? Do we still play Capoue? Or do we leave him out of the bench so that we can "ease-in" our long-term star? Bentaleb is playing because he is good enough at the moment. He is a better option then our other available players. The kid is 19 years old. We are not talking about a 16 year old. He is in an age where he needs to play regular football and if he can handle the tempo and level of play I do not see how giving him less play-time will improve his abilities.

I really hope that this is a new manager calling the shots from a distance. I cannot believe that we would allow Sherwood to sell two players we bought less than a year ago without at least giving them a go in the Europa League.

Holtby I can deal with as I don't really rate him. Capoue is something different, the guy is a quality alternative to Sandro, and Sandro's injury record is dodgy as hell.

To be fair, I'm still in shock that Tim Sherwood is our manager, let alone seemingly being given free reign to do what he wants with our squad. I'm in shock, quite frankly, at how badly Levy has handled it all.

The club has gone from on the cusp of something truly special to laughing stock in record time.

Look at Liverpool. Suarez is still there and they are challenging for the title. Which club is the more attractive destination now?

We sold Bale and shot ourselves in the foot - it feels like the summer we sold Berbatov and Keane - going from the cusp of a great team to square one in the space of a few months.

Now we're selling the players we signed?? Joke.

Absolute bollocks.

How the fuck do you know it's 'crap'? (Let's ignore the fact that there were no quotes whatsoever in that Sun story) You've got personal knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes, have you? If so, perhaps you could share it with the rest of us, seeing as there's been bugger all ITK so far. And of course we're going to see fewer player signings; we've spent £160m over the last three windows, so unless it's for obvious weaknesses like LB it's doubtful that we'll be splashing out—not that we ever do in January.

Is there something wrong with the idea of growing our own quality players?

So as he's done nothing very much wrong except gift United the ball every other pass at Old Trafford and demonstrate that he should be nowhere near CB, certainly against quality strikers, his rumoured departure is probably nothing to do with his footballing ability.

I rate Capoue.

We don't know for a fact that he is on the way out (ITK has a less than 100% record in this regard) and we don't even know that Sherwood called him 'lazy' (it was in the 'Sun'). I hope neither are true :(.

Different people obviously view the game differently. I personally thought we looked protected against United until he was substistuted, a move which (to me) clearly gifted them more initiative.

Remember too, that this was a guy whose confidence had been shot to pieces by being asked to play out of position in a high line defence against the best striker in the league, playing in a team with one of the most fluid attacking threats.

He had also only recently returned to fitness and was being asked to regain that fitness whilst playing out of position and, essentially, chasing the shadow of Luis Suarez.

When he WAS fit and playing in midfield at the start of the season, I thought he looked excellent. I just want us to offer him the chance to show us he can do that again. I think he deserves that.

Bentaleb is not a DM. Capoue is.

Bentaleb's playing time should've nothing to do with Capoue.

Our CM pairing should have a DM, and we only have 2 of those.

Don't know what game you were watching, but I thought we looked far more solid in the middle at Old Trafford with Capoue on the pitch.
