The while shebang seems way over-complicated - as you say it's nearly at the point of sensibility.

There's definitely a lot going on. But I guess if you generally look at it from the point of view of if you lose you drop into the next lower competition until you lose in the conference league and then you go home.

And it will happen again after the group stage when the third place teams from the Europa League drop-down to The knockout stage to the conference League.

The 32 clubs are seeded into four seeding pots of eight in accordance with the club coefficient rankings established at the beginning of the season and with the principles set by the Club Competitions Committee

Do we know who is in what pots?

I wouldn’t assume this to be a pushover - some tricky matches ahead, depending on our group.

We could end up in a group with Feyenoord, Vitesse and Bodo/Glimt. Not an easy run.

Rennes, Berlin and Red Imps would be a good group!

Qarabağ, Alashkert & Kairat would be a nightmare one for travel.

Apart from two of those being from the same country ?

We should win this. Apart from Roma who could be a real challenge.

Don't forget 8 teams will drop in from the 3rd place Europa League group stage, which should add a couple of decent clubs.

Really want us to go out and win this. Sod what everybody else thinks. It's a trophy at the end of the day. Plus teams in pot one could beat us if we take them lightly, a few in pot two as well.

I want us to win this (if only for the coefficient) - look at how weak that list is: LASK (remember them being not very good in our Europa group last year?) are in the top seeding pot

If we get Lincoln, Flora and Luhansk we really can treat it as a play the kids tournament.

If we get Rennes, Vitesse and Bodø/Glimt we'll have to take it seriously to go through.

Huge discrepancy in quality across the seeding groups.

It's slightly more complicated than that.

The 3rd place teams in their Europa League Group play the 2nd place teams in the Conference League Group. Then the last 16 in the Conference League begins:

"An additional preliminary knockout round will be played before the round of 16 between teams ranked second in their groups and the third-ranked teams of the UEFA Europa League groups".
