And that would be the best solution for us working class match going fans.Less money less tv less bling more grass roots old school football.
Only if they kick out the super league clubs, and I want to be able to support my team in that hypothetical ‘purified’ Top division.

I'm starting to believe ESL supporters don't understand how their super league makes the PL worth less. If we're out of the title race by Christmas then we might as well sack off the rest of the league season as our place in Europe is no longer dependent on league positioning. Real value for money for season ticket holders.

Exactly. This is an ongoing issue with NBA. The NBA solution was to set up a lottery system to ensure teams don't tank the rest of the season when they know they are out of title chase but have a chance at a top pick for a top player. The whole mentality and setup is just fucked up. And fans in the US are conditioned to accept that this is a good solution.

No one's ever really out of the race by Christmas, though. This season has proved that.

For example, no one is thinking Ole will win the league. I have £1 on it at 66/1.

United have taken 5 more points than City in the last 6 matches, with 6 games left to play. If that trend continues, they'll finish 3 points behind City in 2nd.

So, if United keep finding a way to win the rest of their games, City will be right under pressure in a season where City were once absolutely walking it.

I know what you're saying, but it isn't that closed off at all.

Thou it’s reality in every league outside top 5.
You don’t seem to get the logic of what it means to support a club, even outside the top division. It’s amazing how little people here seem to understand how football fandom works outside of the modern top 6.

Because this league would be the major European competition, run by the owners of the founding clubs, these founding clubs would "select" the next clubs every year to join. You can bet your house this selection would be based on potential income gained rather than on merit of achievement. If this had of went through domestic leagues would be meaningless outside of the winners. Its no where near an alternative to a merit earned system if you don't agree you don't understand what it is the super league was suggesting.

It seems perfectly sane in a world where David Moyes is threatening to have West Ham in the CL :ROFLMAO:

the only thing that would make sense it fighting among themselves on how to get the most out of this situation. something along the lines that they cannot accept the current UEFA program and if UEFA compromises, the EFL will disband.

The hypocrisy that football won by disarming this is just ludicrous. The clubs leaving today are nothing short of blood money clubs reconciling with UEFA a corrupt organisation who bleeds the very clubs that are trying to break away dry. Why shouldn’t the clubs get more revenue, tickets, broadcasting instead of long the pockets of UEFA.

I think the idea of this league is flawed on the basis that you should have to qualify to play as that would be fair but other than that I cannot see why it’s such an immoral stance to take. At the end of the day though the new CL layout qualifies clubs without them needing to play anyway.

if we are really looking at morality here, the Qatar World Cup, the bribing allegations, the cash cow structure and the huge support/ witch-hunt of sky etc that UEFA have created tell me that they are just as hypocritical if not worse than the ESL.
Agree football is so fractured to its core. Oh well.

I don't agree, as much as I hate the knuckle draggers if they finish top four they deserve CL, our attempt to steal this right away is disgusting IMO and I am ashamed we were part of it.

It’s a shame the the parliamentary review will be absolutely toothless.

Doesn't FIFA outlaw government interference in football associations? I'm sure I've heard of countries losing their memberships/right to play in competitions because of it before.
