Who do you recommend? I knew pretty much zip about the European Market
Bastoni is the clear and obvious choice but with him out of equation I'd recommend Torres. I feel Davies has been excellent under Conte but the gist seems to be that he is demanding a more ball playing LCB who can ping diagonals across the pitch. All else equal you'd find a hard time arguing there are many better left footed center backs in Europe than Bastoni and Torres at that.

(Ingo Durstewitz)

In short, Götze new to Frankfurt to play big role, playmaker Kamada goes to PL (where?), ndicka likely to extend.

We’ve been linked to kamada in the past and had a bid turned down in January.

He is the clear third best option for a left footed CB after Gvardiol and Bastoni.

He is much better suited to the PL than Torres for example and he’s further along in his development than Badiashile (though I like him too)

We can do better than Ndicka. He's a bit raw for where we want to be imo.

Needs to continue his development.
He has played at the top level in Germany for 3 seasons now.... this is exactly when when should have pounced for him. He could have continued his development with us.

Or do we wait until he is a £65 Million plus player and bigger teams want him and regret why we didn't go in earlier for him. Its not as if we have major issues in defence that we need a top end lcb... i.e the finished article.

Durstewitz (the journalist) has an awful reputation. That pretty much cements NDicka leaving and Kamada playing out his contract in Frankfurt.

Kamada would be a hard pass from me. Very talented but infuriatingly inconsistent. He should have some great youtube highlights.....

Think NDicka will be staying put now. Hinteregger has just retired at 29 after the business and political issues.

No chance at 80m euros. Leipzig notorious for not budging.

Got a feeling it will be Botman with the Milan deal doubtful.

yes, it'll be expensive but get the impression we'd pay whatever needed to get what conte wants. as we've been told all along, there is a budget but it's fluid and money saved elsewhere could be used for bigger purchases if need be, as long as we ultimately come in on spend.

fab's probably juggling a million plates right now and no doubt numerous deals are all interconnected (no pun intended).

I have a hopeful feeling that we sort out our outs and forward options before we figure out if we can go all out on Gvardiol. Seems very strange that a things in a key position have gone this quiet.

Are we looking for someone much better suited to the PL or much better suited to Conte’s system? I get the feeling Conte just wants players that will suit what he wants to do and that the Premier League will have to adjust to us rather than our players adjusting to the PL.

If the issue with Torres is he is weak in the air, I just don’t see that as an unsolvable issue. Davies isn’t exactly dominant in the air but as a team we are right near the top on aerial duels won.

We have a defensive structure that is unlike most teams. We have central midfielders who are really going to help and protect defensive inefficiencies and allow our defenders to thrive. We want to pass out from the back and find other ways to get creativity in the side rather than it just being created by a midfield playmaker.

The “suited to PL” thing is real as certain players (Gil for example) might struggle to adapt but I just don’t see it in this case.

Also I keep seeing comments about how it’s great we are looking at players that have PL experience (obviously not for LCB) and that’s another one that puzzles me. 1. Other than Hojbjerg, I struggle to think of a good signing we’ve made in recent years that has had PL experience. 2. Recent signings that haven’t have hit the ground running. 3. The expectations and methods Conte has fly in the face of the traditional PL style.

From Kicker Magazine today:

As was first reported from Italy, Frankfurt's central defender Evan Ndicka (22) has become the focus of AC Milan. "We know about the interest. There is no offer so far," said Eintracht sports director Markus Krösche when asked by kicker. So it remains to be seen whether Milan are really serious about the French defender. Since Ndicka's contract expires in 2023, Eintracht would be willing to sell if the fee is right.

I'd have liked us to sign this guy... we don't need 60 million pounds defenders.

Edit.... I see I'm getting some disagree and funny ratings which is fine... the question I want to ask is... Clubs saw the talent and took a punt on the likes Jasko Gvardial, Cristian Romero, Bastoni etc BEFORE they became the players they are now. How many have waxed lyrical on the performances of Deki and Betancour and what value we got at the prices we bought them at.

Do we seriously need a 60 million pound Lcb for us to be defensively sound... there are substitutes who can do the same job.

Eintracht pushing for sale. Milan willing to pay €15+, discussions going well. But agent blocked deal.

Teir 1 for Eintracht according to reddit user
