Walker needs to put more balls in to the mixer from wide. He's just not creating enough attacking risk.

Son pulled his shirt, gave the ref an easy call to make.us posters.
Slight pull(?) ignored by ref all game or Barkely should have been booked first half thereby curtailing his expansive play. Consistancy is all I ask. Great game to watch as neutral and pretty damn good as a Spurs supporter. Poch seems to have concrete belief in Carrol and he sure as shit knows more about football than 99% of

In that case Barkely should have been booked in the first half for tugging back an attacking player. He only avoided a card as another Everton player was booked for hand ball.Consistency is all we want. Barkely would have been cautious for the entire second half thereby nullifying his threat, Anyhoo that was a great game for the neutral and pretty damn entertaining for us. Alli is a real steal, what a player, Loris was majestic when needed and we now look a real effin team.

Have I blocked all these people slagging of Carroll or what? I see a buch of people outraged by how some here are talking about Carroll but I can't for the life of me find any horrible comments.

I think the problem is mainly multiple "announcements" about how badly he played that either provide no supporting argument or quote false facts, such as that he "passes backwards all the time".

And there are quite a few posts that say "Carroll is shit". Personally, I think there we could benefit from an algorithm on this site that automatically applies a ban to anyone who posts that a Spurs player "is shit" instead of making an actual comment about his performance.

Yeah Barkley should have been booked that was as clear a call as you'll ever see. But so was Son's so if you want consistency both were given as free kicks. :p

Wasn't the most confident going into the game so content with a point.

Just gotta make sure we get 3 points from our next PL game against a Leicester side that looks defensively solid.

Obviously Carroll isn't to blame for not winning that game. However, he is quite clearly the weakest link in our team by some distance. I'm not knocking him, but never feel comfortable with him in central midfield. Why Poch continues picking Carroll is baffling. It's such a crucial position and at the moment we are weak in there. With Dembele injured Pochettino has to pick either Alli, Bentaleb or Mason in beside Dier. If he feels he can't use these players there then he has to go out and buy a midfielder in this transfer window. A point isn't the worst result today, but still feel it's two points dropped. Anyway, COYS...

Thought Caroll was quite good in the first half, but second half was quite poor (along with a few others in the team. He does lose possession a bit too often for me. Dembele was definitely missed today imo.

Overall, disappointing result given the first half performance. But Everton upped their game in the second half, so at least we didn't throw it away.

The fact we did'nt throw it away today after Everton upped their game just shows how far this young squad have come under Poch already.

Can remember far too many games like this in the past where we would not even have got a point.

You want Bentaleb who in the last few times he has played has been poor and cost us goals. Good logic.
I base my opinion of Bentaleb on everything he did for us last season, good logic? Yeah, I'd say so. I guess your logic is to cut someone from the team forever because he had a few bad games after returning from injury? Good logic.

You think someone will waste their time in order to state the fucking obvious to people that pretend they can't see it or just can't judge for themselves?

I think we need to put into perspective of this game.. this was one of the few games we played with so much energy and yet had to defend the same coming from the opponent..

we are fit, but such games will take a toll.. in fact we are probably so fit to be able to possess so much possession and remained concentrated to guard against counters.. and nobody shall need reminding that we had one beast in that Lukaku who has been so prolific this season, coupled with Delofeu who was a nuisance after coming on.. that made Everton counters so easy.. pass forward to these two guys and they can create something..

the threats were real at some point.. and no one in white shirt gambled at all.. as much as possible, all of them came back to do their defending duties.. I would not be surprised to see a list of our players covering the most distances in this game.. Kane was not the only one knackered I am sure.. the season is not wearing him off yet.. Ozil will IMO..

Everton IMO had less to lose than us, hence they became less fearful than compared to the 1st half.. credit to them, that worked.. they really had Lukaku and Delofeu to thank for in driving us down a couple knots.. and talked about Delofeu, giving him so much space was the biggest let off for me in this game.. what a threat he was..

1 point against them was not bad.. afterall, tactically for me, we lost out in the 2nd half.. but given the age of this team and their desire to outscore the opponent without losing concentration to defend till the final whistle wins it for me.. crucial lessons to learn which Poch will right them.. still 4th!

bigger picture, 10/12 over Christmas and unbeaten having gone away to Southampton, Everton and Watford, all teams well capable of beating not only us but anybody on their day.

shows how far we've come that we're all disappointed with another draw but it was hugely important not to get beat given the city and united results.

bring on Leicester and levy, buy a fucking striker (y)

He worries me tbh. Is he the player who we saw when he first arrived, fast, hard working with a lethal shot? Or the the erratic player who has come back from injury, still pacy and hard working but, and it hurts me to say this, no better on the ball or more intelligent than Townsend.

You could substitute the name Son for Lamela in his first two seasons though couldn't you? Poch has said time and again how long it takes players coming to a new culture to change.

Cut him some slack for fucks sake, he won us the game last week, is coming back from injury and is being eased back into this high tempo, high pressing team. He certainly didn't give the ball away any more than some players that started today.

To say he's no better than Townsend defies anyone's logic.

I disagree with the selection, but last time he featured Bentaleb hardly filled us with confidence.

I'm hoping Nabil and Mason get some much needed game time in the cup next week so we can get them starting league games again.

All you "experts" on here seemed to have missed the main reason why most of our players go backwards and sideways which is the often poor movement ahead of them. At one point Vertonghen was bring the ball out and not for the first time stopped and held out an arm to say "where are my options". He then played it sideways.

You've also go to remember that when Carroll plays his job is to try to keep the ball moving, ideally forwards but as we saw today it's not always possible when there is so little movement in front of you. As a result he will get caught in possession and he will give it away under pressure. Jeez have none of you ever played the game especially as a midfielder.

I'm not even a big fan of his but I've been completely bemused at some of the stick that Carroll has been getting here and on twitter. I thought he was excellent today and in the first half in particular really made the team tick. That first half featured the best quick passing performance I've seen from us all season and Carroll was at the fulcrum of it. He did make a few glaringly bad passes in the game but they were at least expansive attempts. I guess those mistakes stick easier in the mind than a lot of the quick simple good work he was doing though.

Son on the other hand was severely disappointing. I'm not writing him off and I expect he'll come good but at the moment I feel as though we look a weaker team every time he comes on. Based on recent performances Onomah should be getting on ahead of him. He needs to pick it up and contribute more.

He is our player, so we must close our eyes and act like retards apparently, ignoring the truth which is he will never be any better than a championship level player at best...

You're a fucking embarrassment to this forum and our club.

I know it's a dissappointing result but think of it this way; if someone had made a poll before the Southampton match titled "Would you be happy 10 points out of Southampton, Norwich, Watford and Everton", it would have been a unanimous yes decision.

12 points out of those matches would have been absolutely incredible, as it stands this run is still excellent.
