Poch did atleast make us think we could actually win a league title. Now its more like we can get top 4 if we are lucky ?
Yeah but the dynamic has changed a little in the league now, UTD coming back a little, Toon money…. I would say it’s even more competitive than it was. That said I would like a little joy back and Poch did bring that during the journey we went on. We are treading water now and regardless of the backing Conte has or hasn’t had, it is pretty joyless supporting spurs right now.

I just do not understand how everyone defends poch for not winning the league when Leicester won it.
We only had Europa league, and it’s not like we went deep in that competition.
We had a better side and squad then Leicester, but he lost key games home and away against Leicester and that pivotal chelsea match at home.
I would put money on conte winning the league that season if he had that spurs side.
We drew away at Leicester and also drew home and away with Chelsea. We were a crossbar away from probably going on to beat Leicester at home. I do recall we finished the season badly (2 points from 12. Including a 1:5 against Newcastle on the final day) but the chance of winning the PL had gone by then. Leicester also had Kante, Mahrez and Vardy (all v good players) and a brick wall defence which benefitted from the rules in place at that time.

Well Poch did had the league’s best defense, it’s not a stretch to suggest we should have won the league with the quality of our first team comparing with the oppositions but now it’s a different story with much stronger oppositions and our squad weaker.

Which goes on to show why you don’t always need to spend vast amounts to get the best. Walker, Verts, Toby and Rose were cheap by today’s standards. So it was either extreme luck or good coaching that made them so.

It was probably extreme luck as he couldn’t do it again with the other defenders

If does sign a new deal, are we expecting a completely different style of play, because I think that is highly doubtful. It will be a repeat and rinse of the last 18 months.
What was wrong with how we played on the back end of last season?

you don’t want to see more of this. I would say this is peak Conte ball.

I've seen no sign whatsoever of that for this entire season even though we have a better squad on paper. What I have seen is some players continually picked on reputation alone, and teams that have worked us out giving us a hard time with no signs of anything at all being done about it.

Yes, so saying inter elite club compare to us isn’t correct. Conte isnt a naive young manager let’s be honest about it he knew exactly what he let himself into. He is stubborn, he is set in his ways and the way and his football isn’t progressive. Besides we all fans are fickle on twitter Liverpool fans want Kloop gone ??? but it is the usual cry “ he isn’t backed” . Poro according to ppl on here is elite player , well I didn’t see any glimpse of it. Am I naive woman think price tag isn’t always sign of backing but quality of player is. But that is me ?
If you mean about him coming to Spurs,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I don't know how you can state this as a fact!
We don't know what was said in the interview with Levi.

I hope that is a list of managers NOT to hire.

Potter is not a manager for any team with ambitions higher than mid-table.
Doesn’t fit Chelsea’s DNA. It’s why Boehly’s “trust the process” mindset is odd. They’re a club and fan base who are used to winning immediately. Potter isn’t that. He’d be a much better fit for us if he’s given time and doesn’t have a squad of 75 players. I won’t discuss it more as it isn’t for this thread but appreciate your opinion of course.

It's quite a take to dismiss a manager entirely based on a few months at Chelsea during a totally mental period of buying a new squad midseason.
