I'm not bothered by this at all. We all know certain players aren't good enough and the squad needs to be rebuilt. I think he is just frutrated by recent results and is venting.

I think we are going to win some games in exciting fashion and kane will score some amazing goals. We are also going to be undone by managers that can see our weaknesses at the back and exploit them.

Talksport caning us. Saying conte doesn’t give a toss about what the players owners or fans think by making those comments.

Don’t bode well before city away and then more comments from the press after another defeat on how he is feeling being at a club that can’t compete

A majority of the fans agree with him…. and it’s about time we had a manager prepared to call the owners out.

I agree too. The only issue is the press having a field day with it and we’re deemed as a joke club. It just invites more press saying did you make the right decision coming to spurs. Are you going to stay at spurs etc. and the press conferences become more about this than the game

The Itk state we backed him getting rid of the players he wanted to get rid of. Now he’s saying they were important and not replaced etc.

Just puts more pressure on. I’ll be amazed if united don’t push for him in the summer

well he got disgruntled with the Spurs way much much faster than I anticipated. One thing looking like a big club but you need to act like one as Poch said.

Guess it will soon be time to reopen the New Manager Search thread

Conte doesn't fuck about. We paid a lot of money to persuade a winner to manage our club. He wants to win things, he wants his teams to be successful. He sees our strategy far, and it doesn't match his goals.

What did we expect him to say?!

He may as well be honest. Because that may help change the clubs strategy in the summer. If not, and he thinks he can't be successful with us, then why would we want to string it along further anyway?
We'd then be better getting in a 'project' manager again who won't rock the boat, won't demand more than he's given, and will be happy to talk about our 'great history' and how we need 'time to improve gradually' etc etc. Nice interviews, being nice to the players. Not pushing anyone TOO much in case he upsets them.

shame these comments didnt come before an "easy" game at home, when city beat us the usual 3-0 its just gonna make things more grim, although some of you arent helping yourselves listening to talkshite.

well Levy tried that with Nuno, a nice passive yes man who was just happy to be here. No idea where he turns to after Conte

Conte wants established older
players with no sell on value ie Perisic De Virj

The little midget wants to make profit on young players
Yes, look at all the young players we’ve sold for huge profits in the last 5 years….

The fact is, it actually makes little sense to buy too many players in their late 20s or early 30s. All the key players Conte has are in that age range: Lloris, Dier, Hojbjerg, Kane, Son, Lucas. What this squad needs is an injection of youth, hard running and hunger,

Lol. The meltdown over absolutely nothing.

TBF I could have predicted a good number of posters that have taken this as Conte having a dig at Levy. You'll find them making post after post in the Enic out threads. "Honestly guv I haven't made this fit my narrative at all".

I don't mind our manager espousing the idea of realism.

I do mind when they conjure a negative cloud above us in the media, amongst the fan base and likely within the club too.

Agree to an extent.

But the pertinent difference is...in those other jobs he was seriously fecking backed.

I'm a little uneasy given our MO with transfers.

He's had one transfer window though. A transfer window where he himself stated it wasn't easy to sign players, and that all our problems wouldn't be sorted in one window.

At Inter he was moaning about needing more players up until his last window. It's just how he rolls.

All ITK(including JJ) seems to point to him being seriously backed in the summer so i'm really not worried, at all.

I agree with everything Conte has said so I'm really not sure why some people are getting annoyed about it. Let's see what happens in the summer before we all go mental.

Everybody knows we are the club the media always make fun of so why are we suddenly concerned we are once again being made to look like a joke - this is just a continuation of a narrative that has been there for many years.

Well if we've heard that ENIC are selling a stake in the club to get money to spend on transfers, then perhaps that was the basis on which he took the job. So if that money doesn't materialise then he'd be well within his rights to walk. It's all very well saying wait until the summer window but if you piss Conte off by failing in one window, you probably don't get a second one.
