They're using the "Be there for Conte's first game in charge..." line on the OS to sell tickets for the Vitesse game.

Dangerous tactic if he is only there watching.

If my failure to run around claiming the slate is clean just yet, after finally getting one thing right makes me a ‘hater’ then I guess that’s what I am
I don’t think you’re a hater. I do think your scepticism is often overboard but I don’t think you’re a hater. I also think you’re absolutely right to say that this is just a start and that the slate isn’t clean. It’s going to take some tangible progression and, hopefully, success to recompense.

Man, it looks and sounds like Conte genuinely wants to be here. Impressed with his Spurs tv interview and his beaming in the photos the club have posted (which of course are carefully selected, but still). Good things are coming.

He'll surely be presented to the fans whatever happens, and I'd be amazed even if he's not officially in charge if the formation hasn't changed.

I think that he knows at this point that, unlike at Chelsea, it would mean so much to the club if he won something.

I have to admit I was fully on board the Potter train given it seemed akin to the Pochettino appointment. But I also have to admit that I am a lot more excited right now than I would've been had Potter joined us instead.

Conte is exactly the kind of manager we need right now.

If there's a manager out there capable of bringing back the energy, life and drive that this club seems to have lost since the UCL final, it's Antonio Conte.

Why is he third best, I would put him joint first with pep and Klopp.
I rate Conte higher than Klopp personally. Klopp only recently started to win titles, only 1 pl title too. Conte has done it at multiple different clubs now. Tuchel is still to prove himself over time too. The only manager above him I feel is Pep but it's close. He's similar to where Jose was before he returned to the pl. Hopefully doesn't go the same direction his second time in England.

So can we now kill the myth that ENIC "has no ambition"?

I'm as excited as anyone, but the sheer number of fair weather fans we have is depressing.
Ambition will now be shown in the transfer market.

We've got an engineless Rolls Royce. Let's see if they fit a proper engine or a milk float engine.

I have to admit I have come around to Potter a bit this season, but Conte was still the clear choice for me. I think it's the fact I believe Conte can make an immediate significant impact, where as Potter would have taken a while to get things going.

Depends what you want really.

If you've got 100s of millions to spend then Pep is probably as close to a guarantee of success as there is out there and you know it'll be good football too.

If you want the best "project" manager in the world on a longterm contract and you're willing to give him 3/4/5 years, then Klopp is probably the reliable choice.

If you want immediate success with what you've got but aren't too fussed about what might happen 3/4 years down the line, then Conte tends to have the quickest impact.

Definitely the top three managers in the world for me though.

I'll never understand how we were trying to sign Conte in the summer and ended up with Nuno. Makes no sense at all.

His interview was great. He comes across very well and looked genuinely enthused. I'm very excited about what could be.

Conte's instagram Spaghetti Mafia grime tune haha what a legend! Hope he puts this on before matches in the changing room, I can imagine him listening to this smiling at the spaghetti mafia but also being buzzing.

I must now be officially “old”, because all I could think whilst watching that was “what the fuck is that awful racket?” :D.

100%, we need an immediate mentality and culture change coming from a real source of authority. This group of players need a kick in the fucking arse from a no-bullshit manager... we were not getting that with Potter.
