Doesn't the performances of Sarr and Gil vindicate Levy more though?

Bringing in old heads will stunt the growth of these players more.

Vindicates Paratici maybe. We clearly need some experienced heads in there as well as young talents.

Good second half. But palace were poor. Been here before, will prob go stink it up against Portsmouth now. What it does say though is we do have some real quality and we just have to go back the manager with what he says he needs

I imagine that there's room for experience as well as youngsters.

Get a feeling there's only room for youngsters in Conte team if he's forced to play them.
Need more injuries for Spence to get his chance.
You might be right - we'll have to see. He'll still be expecting experience in terms of reinforcements, that's for sure. Relying on young prospects won't do it.

To be fair Bentancur, Kulu and Richarlison would have made that scoreline even better. Sar was good, Gils first half was shocking second half decent but palace were woeful. That was hardly a game where you say wow Gil and Sar won us the game and should play more.

Great win. Our start was my favourite thing about it tbh, and we’ll do a lot better if we get more of those. They made us look really poor for the latter half of the first half, and a better side than them would surely have punished us, but thankfully we were able to weather the storm. They were VERY poor once we scored, but we were absolutely ruthless for once.

If we get new additions this window then brilliant. If we don’t though, then tonight makes a lie of the claim we don’t have the players to put in performances like these more often. We were close to bare bones today, so we’re definitely capable of better once some of our better players get back.

The only thing I can complain about tonight was bringing on Emerson at 4-0. I just didn’t see the point of it. We weren’t going to learn anything new about him, and we weren’t defending a narrow lead, so surely Spence was worth the 15 or so minutes on a night where players like Gil, Sarr and Skipp made good contributions? At this point, it just smacks of him wanting to make a point.

That aside though....a pretty good evening

Can you imagine if we actually backed conte.

say buy Porro, skriniar and mudryk. Pay whatever it takes even if it is a bit over the top.

it would transform us.

this is the type of quality we need.
Didn't the original Tyler Durden live in a fantasy world? (and i hope you are right)

Brilliant half .

I thought we were atrocious first half.
It wasn't necessarily atrocious.

Palace always apply some pressure at home. We started fine and were just not getting that final move right whixh was a theme earlier in the season.

Then palace started to swing balls in and focus on getting into cut back scenarios and we had issues adapting to it.

I think Conte tasked Gil with waiting inside a bit more as opposed to staying on the wing and it meant we could switch play better.

What pleased me the most tonight was his use of Gil and Sarr.

I think Sarr would have started if it wasn't for the hierarchy.

I think Skipp started because he had seniority - nothing more nefarious than that. Its hard to complain when the manager gives an academy graduate a start in the PL.

Now, I think Sarr offers more than Skipp - but I won't quibble with that kind of decision at this point in their careers.
