Levy/ENIC are like door to door salesman. They'll promise you the earth, make you sign and then they'll run away never to be seen again. Excellent scam artists.

And this, friends, is everything in a nutshell.

"That he is still forced to not just use, but start, the likes of Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon, and Emerson Royal, is nothing short of a disgrace."

I'm tempted to put some of the blame on Sugar's doorstep, as he sold the club to these two shysters. He must have known what Lewis and Levy were about. If he didn't know, he should have done the due diligence.

Reposting the previous comment I made about this absolute drivel:

——

This is a complete hit piece and absolutely full of lies. It's not remotely objective analysis, I mean how can you write

"Why Bruno Fernandes had his bags packed to come to Spurs, and Levy reneged on the deal. "

Without acknowledging that we dropped our interest because we signed a different option, who was highly regarded at the time, for a big fee.

"Few players exemplify the ENIC con than Eric Dier. The Englishman was signed in 2014 as a backup RB. He failed there, but was tried by Pochettino as a defensive midfielder. He failed there, as well, and was used only sparingly as a 4th choice CB. Pochettino never fully trusted him, and with good reason."

Dier played 37/38, 36/38, 34/38 of our matches from 15/16 to 17/18. How is that being used sparingly? How is that failing as a defensive midfielder?

"Ben Davies was signed the same year as Dier, and was never anything more than a semi-competent backup for Danny Rose. Yet in 2023, he’s been promoted not just to the starting lineup, but in an entirely new position — as a left center back — for Antonio Conte."

Ben Davies has played that position, literally for years, before Conte every got hold of him for Wales.

And that's without mentioning the fact they've built the entire article around a quote they've altered to completely change the meaning, as others have already pointed out.

This article is ranges from deliberately omitting relevant facts to edited quotes to outright lies. Probably the worst bit of Spurs analysis I can remember reading.

People who have the critical thinking skills that you do are becoming ever so rare. Well done.

This says what we all think but eloquently.

I think it says what a portion of our fans want it to say. A lot of nonsense in there in my view as was said above by Spursfan1414

It's been shared loads but to maybe save the thread this is an excellent video by a palace blogger about our situation.

Really thoughtful and attempt at balance. A look beit with a couple of inaccuracies..

I can't deny there has been some 'poetic licence' used there, but the core is that us fans pay good money to watch a team that should be better than they are given the managers we've had and other teams have developed past us as they have backed their managers more than Levy and ENIC have backed ours.

I think this is a good example of the issues with fans discussing Levy and ENIC. There have always been issues with them but the most outspoken largely put out illogical arguments with no balance and misrepresent numerous issues.

We are at a stage where a much higher percentage of fans are against the board than ever before. But we still have fans writing nonsense about us buying players for resale value and other outdated BS.

In this case it has been pretty well documented that Lo Celso was Poch's choice over Bruno Fernandes. So an article blaming Levy for not wanting to spend the money is just nonsense. Bruno and the board at Sporting have both said we'd agreed the deal.

If you want the fans to support changing the board, start with telling the truth.

This article reflects why I think ENIC have finally broken my unconditional passion for the club. I was a season ticket holder at Spurs as a kid with my dad and grandad, but stopped going regularly in the late Sugar / first decade of ENIC years as I played non league-semi pro football myself (and was travelling all over to play). I then became a season ticket holder after joining the waiting list when my eldest son was born and tickets came up for us in Poch’s 2nd season (about 12 years after joining the list), so we have been a season ticket holders 2nd time round for a quite a number of years at a time where I felt the fans really connected to the club again under Poch, but this year I am done! The hope and passion created under Poch and then the allure of the new stadium has now disappeared IMO. Enic don’t really want to (or able to) compete with the very best, and Levy seems to be criminal, judge and jury for his own actions. I have decided the only thing I can do is to ‘control the controllables’ and therefore the £5-£6k I spend each season watching spurs is now going to be spent on visiting European cities such as genoa, Dortmund and Florence to take in different matches and enjoy them rather than watch a game whilst bemoaning the scouting at the club that delivered us Emerson Royal and Clément Lenglet. Levy has delivered the best stadium and training ground in world football but he has also delivered the biggest ‘madoff level’ illusion in world football - “world class prices to watch a bang average product”. You wouldn’t settle for that in any other walk of life, but we have all done so due to grip Spurs have on many of us since the very first moment our Dad, Grandad, or Uncle took us to the Lane. I am sure Levy will replace my monies with some other gullible sucker but I am not investing my money and emotions to the same level anymore unless something changes.

I can't believe it's gotten to a point where this guy's shite that he's been posting for years and years is now called an "excellent article".

There might be a few holes you can poke in the article, but at the end of the day, we’re pretty much trophyless under ENIC, the Lane has gone, we’re paying through the nose and withdrawing our one prized possession, our loyalty, won’t even dent the machine anymore. ENIC have won. No amount of denial will change that.
