Another good season on top the previous one. Could do better but i'm quite happy with how we've progressed this season. Obviously now the next step is the Top 4. 4th is the target, 3rd would be sweet. Lets not dream about 1st or 2nd first. No, i'm not being negative, just realistic(getting ready to be bombarded-god save me!)

Could we achieve that next season? I strongly believe we are in the position. The team has gelled well towards the end of the season and i think we can carry on the form in similar fashion. Having added personal to play at the left side would be an added bonus.

At the end of last season i said to myself that i would be happy if we could again repeat a 5th placing and at least reach the quarters of domestic cup competitions and top it with at least entry to the knockout stage of the UEFA cup. And to my delight the team surpass my expectations!! Kudos to the team. That been achieved with King out of the team most of the season, which made it all the more amazing!

Its looks like we're going to keep the first team (and add to them) and if we can keep them fit and well, once again i say, Top 4 is there for the taking. So here's to the greatest team in London! Glory glory! COYS!!!!!!

Top 4 finish. More than anything else, that's what I want next season.

Target has got to be 4th or to at least close the gap. Should we have extended runs in the cups and pick up a cup 5th-6th would be acceptable.

We may be happy with 5th again but surely we must set a target of 4th.

( :bang: How is that then.. Will it be a walk in the park for Spurs to collect a further 10-15 points more?? )

On the whole I see where you're going, but you did mention you were being realistic?

Last season we had 60 pts, 5 down on the previous year; yes we had cup commitments (and done well), although we had pretty easy paths through to the points which we were knocked out.
My point is, we will have the same cup commitments to deal with, of course it will have benefited us having a year's euro experience.

Some have suggested on here next year will be the strongest EPL yet!
If this is to be the case, I would expect us to collect at least 63 points, have competitive cup runs.
I would like to see Spurs dominate (points against) the teams 'around' us. Lets take 6 points of Villa, Newcastle, Bolton, West Ham, Blackburn and Everton; on top of that lets takes 8-10 points off the top four.

5th+, 65pts+, strong cup runs - I can see us winning the CC, thats my call.

1. Yeh, I think being in the top four at the end of the season must be the aim. We have everything in place, including the crowd, to go that one step further.
2. Winning a cup would be brilliant.
3. Getting Berbs to sign an extension to his contract.
4. Consistency in performance.

That'll do.

4th and the Uefa, this (should) give us the clout to buy a couple of star players so that we can make a title challenge the following year.

Thats where we need to be CL football baby.

Fair enough, i understand where ur coming at but the difference between the two seasons past have been our dire away form. Mostly due to our team not playing together enough for the first part when Carrick left and Zokora was still finding his feet. Like i said, i think that we would have a near similar lineup with a probable addition to the LM/LW so we'd be in a better shape then we were this season. I feel that the Gooners would have problems for the ANC(if adebayor, and Toure plays of course!) so we might come in for the kill then. I feel in the duration of the ANC it will be crucial not because we might lose players( Zok not being there might be alright coz i feel that Huddlestone or TT can come in for him) but other teams will be affected(assuming we play mid table teams in that duration(portsmouth getting appiah is a big 'HELP' for us if our match with them is scheduled during the ANC).

smashingfoxysome sort of trophy. Id be happy with 5th-7th and uefa cup or FA Cup.

I don´t agree on this. On a short term a trophy is nice, but in the long run I only see top-4 as a goal. I would be happy "to sell" all cups for a top-4 finish. It would really benefit our chances to bring in quality players and alos make fantastic financial benefits.

I am slightly worried about next season. Not because the team is getting worse - it isn't, but simply because fans seem to assume that just because we have finished 5th for the last two seasons, we're going to do the same or better this season.

Certain teams will be weaker than last season (Bolton without Allardyce) and certain teams will be stronger (Newcastle with Allardyce). I don't think there's any chance of Jol getting complacent, and I'm sure he'll drum it into the players that unless they perform week-in, week-out, they can kiss a top-six finish goodbye, but I do hope that the fans are patient. Remember how last season started, with a timid 2-0 defeat to Bolton.

On the plus side, we will benefit from Ledley King being back in the side, but I do worry slightly about how dependent we are on Berbatov. When he wasn't in the team we looked fairly average in a lot of games. If Mido is staying he needs to be fit and mentally right. If he's not staying then we need someone who can hold the ball up, because I'n never convinced when Keane and Defoe start together.

Overall, I'm looking forward to next season, but I can think of loads of teams who have enjoyed one or two great seasons and then slumped. Look at Everton, they seem to alternate between flirting with the Champions League and flirting with relegation.

So, let's see a little patience, and please don't assume that we're guaranteed a top six finish before anyone has kicked a ball.

Away form, spot on!
Do you really feel that confident about our midfield right now?
Wins at Bolton, Blackburn, Everton, Newcastle, Villa and West Ham... Sunderland will be tough too; head over heart, do you see us winning those games as we stand now?
My point is the top four would look at those as wins with very little doubt.

The aim must be CL qualification, UEFA qualification MINIMUM.
A trophy would make it a great season.
Plans for the stadium to be finalised or at very least revealed.

I dont think thats unrealistic, they're all do-able.

4th and 3 wins over the former "big 4", no more than 3 losses against them. that'll be fine.

Valid point. It will be tough but i think we could do it. We're a team of momentum and the form at the end of the season just past suggest that we'd be coming into the new season doing the same(as i said, mainly because we'll be playing with basically the same first team. But yes, what u say is true and i just hope we can achieve those important away wins to challenge the top 4.

4th place has got to be the target, its almost certain the Berbatov and other members of our squad will be off if we fail this season. The club is building something very special and we need to keep hold of the quality we have for that to continue. Top 4 is where we need to be to make that happen. Our only saviour me be a serious Trophy win otherwise, but top 4 HAS to be the target. If we invest wisely over the summer i can see it happening.
