Don't the season ticket holders still get this as one of their free games? So after you take out an increased away allocation too it doesn't seem like there'll be many tickets for everyone else.

And Man Utd. Think they have been on tv for all of their FA cup games going back about 20 years,

Think it was a third round 0-0 against Exeter in 2006 the last time they weren't televised. But your point still stands, it's fucking ridiculous!

So

Liverpool
Scum
Tottenham
Man U
Man City

Are all live on telly over that weekend. Oh the magic of the FA Cup!!

That's why it's lost its magic because the Final used to be the only live game in the entire season...

in those days you only had MotD and the one on ITV on a Sunday afternoon, the ITV 1 used to be the only way to ever watch anything of the old league cup, which was highlights only:ROFLMAO:

Let's not forget we had the European Cup finals. I remember watching the 1967 European Cup final through a shop window Nr Stamford Hill opposite the Grey Green coach depot ...

I think it's something like the last 44 Man U ties have been televised. Can't be arsed to check exact numbers but that is disgustingly bad! BT & BBC (plus previous incumbents) basically bowing to the country's most supported club.
Although in fairness I couldn't pick 2 decent games out of this draw!! Tv nightmare, unlucky!

Of course they pick the Man United games. They're interested in viewing figures and United guarantee you good figures. Even the BBC who don't theoretically have the commercial pressure have to keep the viewing figures up to justify the amount they spend on sports or else their executives won't let them bid for the rights. As much as some people would prefer Sutton vs Wimbledon, there's no way it'd beat the Man United game unfortunately.
