I like Pearce because hes enthusiastic and has a good commentators voice, but when you really listen to him he really talks a lot of shite. The commentator first said McShane was 26 years old, now he's just said he is 36.
So I had to check, turns out he is 28
all the big guns are through, so expect a couple of PL teams to clash in the next round. We might even end up facing Manure or Chelscum.
Most underrated commentator for me is Peter Drury. Somehow he's restricted to only doing the global stuff for the Premier League these days as ITV appear to prefer Sam "I feel the need to fill every void with random trivia" Matterface and Clive "I'm actually not very good but I'm the only person that can tolerate Andy Townsend" Tyldsley.
How I miss Barry Davies though...
1-1 now.....Liverpool 1-0 and the ref giving them everything, every 50/50 its awful
Really uninspiring 4th round draw. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Arse and Liverpool all kept apart and with easy draws. Only potential upset looks like Bournemouth at Villa, but with only 8 league places between them does that even count as an upset?
Really good effort from Wimbeldon last night. Used to hate them in their 90s 'Crazy Gang' era... but this incarnation, the way the club has risen from just a bunch of fans kicking about in a park, to FA Cup ties against the likes of Liverpool, is nothing short of fairy tale stuff. Looked like a cracking atmosphere in their little ground, and they properly gave the scousers the run around. Sakho knew he'd been in a game after that.
I also like the way it flies in the face of the influence money has on the game, in that the original club legged up the M1 for the finances, and yet this new club has so quickly become embraced as "Wimbledon" after being put together by the fans. With their modest yet good plans for a new Plough Lane, last night will have brought them one step closer to being fully established. Living in the area I think it's pretty good to see these regeneration plans.Without meaning to belittle the way they rose through the divisions, when they first formed and held open trials on Wimbledon Common over 200 people turned up including players who had been released from league and Premier League academies. So they had an advantage over a lot of clubs at the level they started out at. But still, to go up the leagues at the rate they did was hugely impressive.
