Okay, so the Chairman who eulogizes Tottenham's attacking DNA hires low block and counter attacking managers (Jose, Nuno, Conte).

This very same Chairman, famed for underpaying on players, hires a DoF who overpays on players?

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is a movie.
its a car crash

With this league getting more and more American owners, interviews at half time, it's becoming more like a reality show. Teams that have more drama will be more popular. Brilliant planning by Levy and Paratici, 4d chess right there.

#LevyIn, #OverapayPorro.

Fabio Paratici's future at Tottenham is under increasing scrutiny after allegations he offered to pay over the odds to sign Cristian Romero from Atalanta to solve a problem for his former club Juventus.

Paratici was hit with a 30-month ban by the Italian FA on Friday for his part in financial irregularities at Juve, where he worked for more than a decade.

This penalty is expected to be extended to the UK, throwing his role as managing director of Spurs into jeopardy.

The latest revelations from the investigation, however, will prompt further questions from chairman Daniel Levy. Details have emerged from conversations between Paratici and Luca Percassi, chief executive of Atalanta and son of the club’s co-owner Antonio Percassi, recorded by Italy’s financial authorities during an investigation into Juve’s accounts.

If true, he needs sacking ASAP.

Can’t wait for the stores saying we “overpaid” for Kulu and Bentancur as well. This article forgets how Levy runs his shop. Come on, as if Levy would overpay for anything. Such nonsense.

Prof on COYS:

As I said previously, unfortunately there are also concerns about certain ‘activities’ he’s undertaken while he’s been in London, which may or may not come out in the open for awhile, but which the club perceive (rightly or strongly) as increasingly distracting him from transfer activity. This reinforces the qualms about his ability to exercise sound judgment. There are at least 3 other COYSers who have heard the same from their sources. Given how much squad-improvement work was needed for this window, and will be needed for the summer window, this is really a sad situation for Spurs.

It would be very surprising if Levy went for him considering how vocal he can be about things. It would be welcome from a fan perspective though to have him here.

Since when was the Daily Mail a decent source?

Doesn't pass the logic test, firstly we got him on loan with an option, so if we didn't think he was worth it, we didn't have to pay to keep him and 40m for him is a bargin in a market where Martinez is 56m etc.

A lot of the way Juve were trying to cool the books was around amortisation, the way payments of transfers are spread across contract lengths, so If Paratici was taped saying he could scratch Juve’s backs for a return favour down the line it would most likely be in this aspect of the transfer.

For those doubting the authenticity of the call, why are you? To be banned for 2.5 years and for juve to get 15 point deduction when prosecutor asked for 9 points shows there is some serious shit gone on..add onto that the potential new investigations that are being considered based on the evidence uncovered in the Prisma case and this sort of call is completely believable. He "allegedly" had a note pad containing real happenings at the club and not the fabricated ones that were given to authorities.
Hard to see how he could ever hope to continue in this role.

The article relates to Juve overpaying for Romero, not us.
we worked a flanker with the other two as Boca Juniors had a sell on clause for Bentancur, so we knocked his fee down and Kulu up so Juve didn’t lose as much money. We did same with Lo Celso and many yrs previously , same again with Ben Davies and Michel Vorm.
we don’t need an Italian to fiddle the books. We can do it ourselves.

This will have an enormous effect on Italian football and the way it runs and all clubs will start to be implicated. It takes two to Tarantella after all. Then the web will increase right across various leagues worldwide and others will be drawn in. So the question will be, what’s the desire to clean all this up for all or will it be conveniently swept under the carpet with little fuss?

After all, what was that quote earlier from Paratici saying something about ‘you are Italian, you know how this works…’. Or similar.

As an aside, there’s always deals going on across Europe that we can’t believe the fees/amounts for in relation to our purchases. Deals that seem so cheap or those that are outrageous in terms of cost. I feel that it is ripe for corruption.

It's only natural that the gutter press will start looking at his transfers whilst with us. If anything is less that 100% legit then it's Levy that will also have to fall on his sword too

'Activities' is a bit too vague. Maybe he's just been out in the car with Pleat late at night :sneaky:

Well I for one can't wait for his promised update at the end of the transfer window.

"Unfortunately Fabio couldn't be with us on video today, but he's kindly used his one phone call from police custody to update the fans on this January's incomings."

Well surely he’s gone when the window closes?

I know a lot of people saying Ragnick, but I’d love Michael Edwards if he’s willing to come back.
