Its actually really sad reading all that, he is actually crying out for help reading his comments trying to reason with people who have believed the rumours. Money counts for nothing in times like this. How can your own family write a letter to your club to get you sacked? While everyone took the p*** out of him the club were supportive and knew why he needed to go back home to sort out family issues.

You jest but unfortunately its true in a lot of cases as life is hard for a lot of people, so once you get to Europe/America you are expected to send money home and basically do everything.

People in Africa think that because you live in London you must have money. When you tell them that you don't or that you can only send them money on occasion they refuse to understand and assume your lying. Many of them are ungrateful. It's not until they get here that they realise that it's not easy living in London or the UK, US etc.

Adebayor being a well paid athlete only make things worse for him. Of course this doesn't excuse him from his duties as a professional.

Honestly reading all that through he doesn't sound like the sharpest tool in the box to start with
Hmm, they could have just sent him an anonymous email with a business proposition and requested he send them funds for a 4642541% return....

Reads like one of those conman emails. Half expected a "if you give me your bank account details, I can wire you the money" sentances at the end.

When I was in Monaco I though it would be good to have a family of footballers. So I made sure my brother Rotimi gets into a football academy in France. Within a few months; out of 27 players, he stole 21 phones.

Fucking:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think I actually spooked the neighbours laughing out loud at that.

Jesus, really feel for him going through all of that. Poor fucker. Everyone on the teat, chugging away.

He needs to cut them all off and concentrate on his football and feed most of the mountain of money we're paying him into his foundation instead of his leeching family.

Still, no reason for him not to try on a football field. Doesn't excuse that, but I absolutely empathise with his predicament.

I read all that and the biggest leach in the scenario is probably his manager/agent.... where the hell are they in all of this?

Obviously not managing their clients affairs, all his money should have been put into trusts and the foundation far earlier.

After reading it, it's the same story from him as the ones he told before - "I gave them money, and they hate me."
Not calling him lying but it's way too one sided to know what's what. Something's missing, probably a lot of it. Through out it all, the underlining question seems to be that 'I gave them money, now why don't they love me?' , as in every single family member he mentioned, his main point starts with 'I gave them money and...'

Maybe he did everything right and just happen to be in a bad family; or just more of people from utter poverty don't know how to handle the vast riches from family members; it must be so hard to handle because it's so easy to ask. Maybe he's playing the victim here, or maybe it's really how he sees it and truly feeling sad and he did nothing wrong in causing this...But the cynical side of me refuse to feel any sympathy towards him.

It does make me appreciate Drogba more on how he handles things around him though.

Imagine someone wanting money for doing nothing.

He's been through some tough times and it can't be nice having family only seemingly interested in getting a free ride but it's hard to really feel a great deal of sympathy regarding the crying over him giving money and not getting much in return considering how he is.

Does make me possibly understand why he is how he is though further. And I think a hell of a lot of footballers are the same. They hit a payday, gain an extraordinary amount of wealth that can help family or others and that's it they're done. Feels like the ambition isn't in achievement but in being able to make yourself and others comfortable. And they then stagnate knowing they've achieved what they wanted to.

If I am writing this, the main purpose is not to expose my family members. I just want other African families to learnfrom this. Thank you."

Yeah, because this is a massive problem for your average African family.
It actually is pretty commonplace for the average African family with money. I know how often I have to put my hand in my pocket every time I go back home, and I obviously don't earn anywhere near what he does. I know he'll just get ridiculed over here as per usual, but from what I do know of his family situation, it really is sad.
