I'm not watching, or indeed engaged at all. Couldn't tell you the groups, who's in it, when the games are. Its simply not on my radar.

Beyond Spurs I find it hard to give a monkeys about top level football at all, let alone a tournament being played on the bones of slaves. Its just more millionaires at play, unaware or unconcerned at any collateral damage that may occur by the wayside. Fuck em.

I'm only here for the movie threads.

me.

I consume all the coverage on, in, and around the event because that actually has real world significance. I don’t watch the actual football.

not really a boycott and more the fact I just can’t enjoy a game of football played in this context. Thousands dead and tens of thousands enslaved so 22 grown men can chase a ball around a field for 90 minutes.
This is exactly it for me. I’d have loved to watch the Welsh fans belting out Land of my Fathers and Yma o hyd this morning. But I know the thousands of deaths would be hanging over the whole thing like a shadow.

Makes me feel sick to be perfectly honest. If people like @archiewasking want to try and belittle that, then I think it’s says far more about them than you or I.

Cold War Steve, not sure what Prince Charles has done to be in it but it’s still pretty on the money.

Just to be clear, there was absolutely no intent on my part to belittle you or anyone else. What I'm struggling with, is really wanting to watch my country and the other Spurs players. But so far having not watched, precisely because of the abhorrent migrant deaths and other human rights abuses. And at the same time, wondering why I'm missing it, as no one of importance in the scheme of things, will either know or care. Certainly no belittling on my part should be construed. Hope that helps.

I wasn't going to watch but it's the world cup and it's sucked me in...plus I've got naff all else to do with my time.
As much as I hate the fact that it's where it is, it's tournament football, on normal telly, pretty much all day.

I haven't missed a world cup or euros since probably '86, so I'm not letting the corruption of FIFA and Qatar rob me of this one.

Fair do’s mate. There’d been a few snipey posts about people not watching it the last few days, I misunderstood your intent.

I've been enjoying it.

I was angry about it but actually us westerners behaviour has driven me to the point of not caring at all.

You have the fa lighting up wembley in rainbow colours yesterday , the same FA whose cup is sponsored by Emirates, the national sides of those complaining are full of players from sports washing clubs and the media happily cover those sports washing clubs rarely saying a word but now they're suddenly concerned.

A lot of it has become patronising grandstanding from people who seem to have the attitude that everything is ok when it's coming to my pocket but when it isn't were going to make a stand.

The football has been fun, I like that FIFA have suddenly solved the time wasting issue without warning and the times are great.
