All it would take to fuck FIFA would be for England and Spain to withdraw and start their own governing body. Maybe get the other bigger European leagues to join their new organization like Germany, Italy, France etc....

If the best teams and best leagues quit they'd lose most of their sponsorship. Never happen though will it.

Corrupt bunch of old fuckers given free reign to destroy what used to be the peoples game all in the name of money

There's simply too much money in football for it ever to be free of corruption again unfortunately. Although the FA have just made a stand, it looks very much like a response to us not getting the World Cup and I'm sure if we'd got it we'd have been very happy to look the other way whilst the brown envelopes were passed around.

It's a shame but it'll never change.

17 votes against, I guess that means 17 footballing bodies NOT getting a kickback from FIFA.

I like the idea of the FA introducing Video technology etc to show FIFA up for the sham they are.

I see blatter isn't going to hold any grudges:rofl:

Among other things he said:

"The number one national association in Fifa - the FA founded the game in 1863 - have the right to be called the FA, Football Association. They should be an example, so that was a surprise".

They were mate they were! He still don't get it does he.:bang:

Clearly the fact that we have the Football Association still pisses him off, mind you at least he's had to admit we founded the game last year he tried to slap us down by saying it was China and we just wrote it down.

Henry Kissinger to join the anti-corruption squad to ensure transparency... you couldn't make it up!

He's good at making people disappear so maybe he can make the corruption allegations disappear too. The question is whether he will just achieve the latter by doing the former.

It's just like when he was appointed head of the 9/11 commission - everyone I see reacts with horror at a terrible idea. Yet somewhere there are people thinking 'oh, yes, Henry Kissinger, a reasonable and capable choice to get the truth out in the open'. Who the fuck are those people?

Or perhaps that's a naively democratic view and it just doesn't make any difference that everyone knows Kissinger's sick past etc

So sick of FIFA and Blatter. His deny everything and carry on attitude is infuriating, he reminds me of Berlusconi - he can wade through seas of shit and still come out grinning like nothing has happened, his influence intact.

I'm glad the FA made a stand at last, but I can't help but think it's a hollow gesture when they were perfectly happy to grease palms and kiss arse during the WC bid and even denounce Panorama when it all came out.

Apparently Haiti, Benin, the Congo and Cyprus have all criticised the FA - Come back when you've given ANYTHING to football. Oh and Julio Grondona, who made some startlingly anti-semitic comments a few years ago and who is the head of the finance committee - so his hands are obviously clean!
