LA FIORENTINA BERBATOV AND BOUNDARIES OF LOYALTY '
29/08/2012 22:17

ACF Fiorentina announces that the acquisition of the player Dimitar Berbatov finally jumped after it had reached an agreement with Manchester United (exchange of contract shared the first installment of the consideration paid and surety for the second installment already signed) and after it had reached a verbal understanding with the player on his contract. During today, the English club had granted its affiliated written permission to travel to Florence for medical and sign the contract. The player had embarked, accompanied by his attorney and paid tickets from Fiorentina on a flight to Florence. But in Florence, the player never arrived. Because of reckless and arrogant actions of other companies, which have nothing to do with the values of honesty, fair play and ethics of sport and that lie beyond the boundaries of loyalty. As for the player, in addition to its characteristics and its technical merit, at this point we are happy that did not come to Fiorentina did not deserve our city and our shirt and the values it represents.

Having everything signed and prepared and not showing up? This sounds familiar.

Don't really see how this is a Spurs story, but that's a pretty childish statement from Fiorentina.

Always had a soft spot for Fiorentina when watching them in the James Richardson football Italia days (loved Batistuta) but Fiorentina have just become my 2nd favourite team.

So, what's actually happened?

Instead of going to Florence he drove to Manchester to have an unscheduled meeting with Alex Ferguson. At which point the wizened alcoholic pointed out it wasn't 2008 anymore, and told the greasy game dodger to fuck off.

Fair play to him.

If I was about to start a job then got made a better offer, I'd take the better offer too.

Anyone who says they wouldn't is a liar.

I agree. If i did however, i'd do the other employer the courtesy of calling them to save the poor buggers wasting a few hours hanging about an airport

I actually got offered a better job, but had to turn it down. But that was a long story. Very much about respect.

So just to be clear. If they are an ex-Spurs player they can't be discussed in the Spurs section?

"Can't" - why are you being so melodramatic? I never told anyone what they can and can't do, I just don't see why it's here. Relax.
