Get Gattuso

Man Utd, Spurs alerted as Gattuso ponders AC Milan exit
tribalfooball.com - April 14, 2008

Manchester United and Tottenham are on red alert after it emerged that Rino Gattuso is weighing up his options at AC Milan.
La Repubblica says Gattuso is seriously considering asking away at the end of this season. The midfielder is bitter about this season's decline and feels, at 30 years of age, he needs a new challenge to inspire him.
United, Spurs and Newcastle United have been mentioned as potential destinations for the World Cup winner, along with Luca Toni's Bayern Munich.

A younger Edgar Davids. There's no way spurs will be ever be bossed in midfield when Rino is in the team. His wife is Scottish so it would suggest a move to UK isn't out of the question.

Gattuso would never come to Spurs.

Plus he hasn't exactly been on form this season.

His wife is scottish, so there is a good chance that he would come back to the Island.
We would be very very lucky to get a player like this, although chances are United would also want a player like him, snapping at the heels of everyone that they play against.

I find it hard not to like this guy.

one of my fav players in world football, i would love it if he came here, unlikely to happen, but you never know. Exactly the type of player we need to sort our midfield out and break into the top four. please become a yido rino!!!!

Kendall, form is temporary, class is permanent, and this guy is one of the best CMs in the world. A tough never-say-die terrier like rino would make the biggest difference to our team than any other type of player imo.

not sure united need him though, they seem pretty well covered in midfield.

There you go day and night
Up in the clouds flying so high
You try your best to stretch your mind
Beyond reality and sense and rhyme
You see things that make your big heart sing
Like the flowers trees and birds and pretty things
Hate to put your two feet on the ground
You like to step aside
And release yourself and fly

Dream on dreamer life gets in your way
Dream on dreamer life gets in your way

Tell that to Shevchenko.

He is 30 and certainly playing like he's ageing

I've seen him 2 or 3 times this season, and he didn't look tobe as sffective as a couple of years back. Looked to have lost a step or so.

Would be the best signing we could make. The guy isn't a midfield general, he's a midfield destroyer. Ask for him in p/x for Berbs and you never know...

Question: Is he better than what we currently have?

Answer: A resounding yes

So, if he wants to come - and we have no-one 'better' in mind - then do it!

However, it still comes down to whether players like Berbs stay, of course....

I think he's awesome and would be a fantastic addition.

As to getablility, I dunno, the wife angle could be a draw to Blighty. A new challenge definitely would include the premiership. ManUSA don't need him and SAF has publicly just said no old players coming. That leaves Ar5ena1 (too old for them), Liverpool (not sure they need him as much) and Chelski (midfield definitely strong enough).

I'm sure we could get together the cash to tempt him. Maybe not a monster wage deal but a nice sign-on could make him happy without trashing the wage structure. We offer London too. My only concern is whether he'd insist on CL football for his swan song gig.

I love the fact that people are questioning whether he's good enough for us. Spurs fans reckon themselves so much, don't they?

We don't have a chance in hell of signing him. Out of our league

Walter Smith usually played him out of position at right back...... sounds as though he ought to fit right in at the Lane, then!

He's quite often shoved out on the right at Milan. They need to rebuild, he needs to come to the Lane. Simple.

If he came to us it would be bigger than when we got Davids/Klinsmann.
