Disgusting performance, the away fans should be refunded for all costs tonight. Keeper only one out there coming out with any credit, the rest of the defense should be made walk home.

What an embarrassment it's the kind of result that underlines there is trouble brewing within. Conte is probably on the brink of walking. I had a bad feeling about this one and so its been proven. When I saw the line-up I thought here we go with that so called defence.

What really was bad was not to see Spence even start and Conte's stubbornness plus assessments are not helping on the support side to those waiting in the wings. He's use to players who know how to win our players don't so effectively look to bring another curtain down on yet another manager it seems.
His post match interview was slightly weird!

The club promote backups and expect the manager and fans to believe they are superior replacements. Only when the level gets dire eg winks/Sissoko do they look to make changes.

exactly right the lack of any sort of transfer plan is why we are where we are - transfers aren't some of sort of mystery you identify your weaknesses and look to replace them - in the summer just gone we never did that we filled the squad but never bought first choices to succeed you need to buy players who are ready for the first x1 that's why the team has regressed - we need 5 or 6 players first choice players that's serious money Levy wont sanction that and that also needs to be backed up with the purchasing of young talent who can push on I have never seen such a dearth of talent in the reserves look past Devine and the two lads on loan and the rest have no chance of playing first team football at Tottenham how has that been allowed to happen

Lets hope the WC acts as a break for us and we come together stronger once its over. Conte may recharge also. Only positive, Spence looked great tonight.

At least there should be no doubt in Conte and Paratici’s mind that we need to shift Dier, Sanchez, Sess (and Davies and Hugo) asap as these players have proved they aren’t up to standard.

if any of them are still here at the end of the summer window I will be very disappointed
We’ve been saying this for years

We may as well get our money’s worth from Kane before shitgate r
I'll be fascinated to see how Aurier is these days.

Ultimately it doesn’t really matter, this is the lowest of our priorities. That said, it doesn’t excuse the performance and I’m baffled why Conte didn’t make more wholesale changes if that’s the level of effort we got anyway

Cold hard facts are that too many of this group of players have continually shown themselves to not be of the standard required yet they’re still here, still being relied upon and still making the same mistakes as they were 3/4/5 years ago. Lloris, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Lucas would’ve been binned by a serious club years ago. Doherty, Emerson, Sessengnon never would of got a look in. Terrible recruitment, and a tolerance of mediocrity at the club

The cynic in me tells me that the players are going to come back even more shagged out, won’t recover until April yada yada.

Genuinely think Conte threw this game. He doesn't want a fixture pile up in the restart. He wants to prioritise the league and Champions League. This will be forgotten swiftly if we progress in those and he knows it.

So why pick, on paper, a strong team? I’d agree with you there were 10 or 11 changes but that starting X1 should’ve won the game.
But if you ask the likes of Kane & Hojbjerg to give it their all tonight & Saturday before the World Cup, then that’s naive at best.

I mean it in the sense the players knew he didn't want to be in it. He couldn't be 'seen' to be doing anything different though

Its been the mental grind that the break may help. A change of scenary, a bit of heat and new training and faces. Basically we need a reboot and we may get one.

Listen right, I figured beforehand that this was not going to be one of our finest hours. And so it proved. I didn't watch the game but saw from the stats that we were clearly so crap _AGAIN. I've been a Spurs fan since 1962 and maybe I was spoilt by the Poch years but quite frankly I have difficulty watching us at the moment. As much as we have some really good players, we also have many that are no way near PL quality.
It breaks my heart to watch/hear us play. God knows how we are 4th in the League in that we generally serve up some of the most shocking, dull football. I watch Brighton __ a club 10 miles down the road from me __ displaying some of the most imaginative, intellectual football. I watch us and it's so sterile.
We've got to release our boys, get them to be less scared, eg Sess, and not select those who simply can't play (eg Royal).

If I were him I’d pick some hungry younger &/or fringe players. First choice were never going to fancy it tonight, they wanted a rest.
He’s paid the big bucks to make these calls

I miss the optimistic rating, but not as much as I miss the hysteria of the football club I love (far more than it deserves ) winning a trophy.

Then why not start Gil, Spence, Sarr, Tanganga etc etc etc...

Can't help thinking that this performance, much more than the result, is potentially damaging to the squad as a whole.
