Nuno Espírito Santo ?
Why does it sound like a priestly blessing at the end of a Latin Mass? Must be my Catholic upbringing but his name reminds of incense and gothic churches? Am I overthinking this or has the 4000 page 'Next Manager' thread finally sent me over the edge?

Levy is part of the Illuminati.

Players will have no where to hide, Jose personality took all the shite. Nuno will stand back and let players decide who wants to perform. Looking forward to the ride.

The more I think about Nuno the more I think he's a mix of the styles of Poch and Jose. I don't think it will take as long to transition from how we played under Jose to the way we will play under Nuno. When Jose replaced Poch it took time for the players to adapt to sitting off and not pressing high. I think we'll adopt more of a mid block under Nuno but a low one against the very top opponents. Where I think we'll do better is play through midfield like we did under Poch and have more energy I expect our fitness levels and aggression to return.

I hope he does well. At worst I think he'll just steady the ship and have us in the top half for a bit with better football. That could set us up for a Poch return in a couple of years. We should have enough changes by then. I think Nuno could bridge that transition back from the Jose style to the high press Poch style again. If we went straight to that high press style we might struggle early and concede too many. I hope Nuno doesn't try to be too attack minded just to appease the fans. Stick to what he does best and hopefully with the better players we could be fun to watch.

Taking some positives:
- he has been described as a man manager. Something the squad needs.
- he knows how to organise a defence.
With these two things last year we could easily have finished top four.
Let's hope that with the superior squad at Spurs he can add attacking flair!
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

I hope he brings Coady and Neto with him

I mentioned Coady as a transfer target back in May. He’s a good passer in a back three, which I think we’ll need if we play that way. He isn’t the best in a back four though. I wouldn’t be surprised if we go for him. I can see a bid of under £15m being enough for him.

Him in between the Japanese guy and Rodon would be an improvement on Sanchez and dier.

I know he isn't a Mendes client and his end product can be questionable. but if we kept Kane and Son and added Adama Traore imagine the space he would create for them with the opposition needing to double up or foul him to get him off the ball.

I was not too happy with Nuno first, but it is what it is now. I am 100% behind him.

I believe also he has more support than Jose from the beginning.

Neto is coming off the back of quite a severe and rare injury. He fractured his patella so i'd probably see how he comes back before spending big money.

Yeah I like the idea of 3 youngsters like Rodon, Tanganga and Tomiyasu along with 3 senior figures like Davies, Toby and Coady. I just hope he goes with the back 3 because that was his best system at Wolves and suits our players.

Thats as poor a back line we already have. We need actual quality at CB. Not just #’s. Coady does the same for me as Andersen, Vestergaard, etc. Nothing. Fine for a 2nd CB but as the primary CB signing? Absolutely not.

Just seems like a warm likeable guy, I have good vibes about this and the set-up with Paratici looking to re-vamp our squad.

Will be a very interesting next month or so of in's and out's and pre-season line-ups etc.

Lets hope Nuno can unite the fans and club again like Poch did. Jose was far too divisive and controversial, Nuno as a person seems a really good fit for the club, lets hope he can deliver some half decent successful football.

COYS.

Coady... Alderweireld is still streets ahead of him and I bet he could turn Dier into a better defender.
Please no. Poch, Jose, Mason and Southgate all failed. Let’s focus on a worthwhile project with some hope of a successful outcome. Dier needs to move on.
