this is a good point, everyone is saying its 48 hours later but http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/season=2012/matches/round=2000266/index.html says

18 April 201218 April 2012 - UEFA Champions League, Semi-finals

Benfica/Chelsea

20.45

Barcelona/Milan
so not only would they be at home, they would play more than 72 hours later

Chelsea just trying to get the English FA to act like the rest of Europe

The FA have no grounds to bring the match forward to Friday to suit chelsea - 72 hours is more than some teams have to cope with between matches.

Friday night for an FA Cup semi final ? Why decrease the prestige of the cup by doing that ?

Sundays are awful without football whereas at least on a Friday you can go out or just enjoy being in due to the fact you'll have no work the next day. May as well have it on a day that is usually boring to make it good as apposed to one with more options to actually be doing something.

Talk shite very busy tonight trying to convince the world that we should all be behind them playing on Friday instead as they are last English in the competion. They are bumming them big time.

I felt like passing on our universal thought to them but i have a feeling i wouldnt have got it aired :)

If they move it to the Friday, the team shouldn't show up. Not going to help a team trying to take the 4th place away from us by winning in Europe.

What about all the people working on Friday? Which is most people.

FA Cuo semi finals are a special feeling. It's the end of March so a chance of nice weather in the afternoon. The fans have the whole morning to talk about the game and fixate on nothing else. Something you can only do on the weekends. It's just a great day out.

Rushing around after work on a Friday and having those nagging work problems on your mind isn't a great buildup to a game.

The game has to be on the weekend.

Careful, it wouldn't be the first time that Tottenham hadn't turned up for a game

When is this decision actually going to be made? Presumably not until Chelsea have actually got to the CL semi-final, but tickets go on sale on Monday don't they?

The decision has already been made effectively, in as much as I believe it isn't even up for discussion within the FA.

And like others have already said, screw Chelsea. As I've said previously, the FA shouldn't give much help to our teams in Europe as involvement in these competitions provides a good leveller throughout the season (via the extra games, distractions etc) which is offset in the long term by the financial rewards of playing in the Champs League. To take away the 'leveller' would be to give the teams in Europe a leg-up in domestic competition as well as European competition.

Both clubs are selling tickets based on a Sunday kick-off. Wembley and the FA's websites have the game listed for Sunday and the National Express are selling tickets to Wembley from all over the country for the game on Sunday. I can't really see how this is still being debated.

Can you imagine the FA really wanting to piss Levy off just before they are to negotiate Harry's compensation package?........

I reckon we should ask to play it a day closer to their priceless CL game, this will then give them a hint as what we think on the matter:)

If Arsenal & David Dein were involved it would be a "done deal" for sure.
