hahha. I'd have to disagree on the staying up bit TT, I think they were doomed. I concede that they looked more team-like, but the league table looks horrible...
It's horrible for 11 teams atm. Out of those 11 I can see 3 others that had become more likely to go down than foolham.

The owners have taken a shit.

Sacked malmsteen and brought in megadeath.

@sim0n - why've you got such a hard-on for going on about how bad Rene is, dude?! ;-)

tbf, he's obviously not done the required at Fulham - but 16 days at his former club wasn't his fault - and whilst I agree he didn't seem to understand the gravitas of relegation; you're not holding back in coming forward about him mate!
watching his post game interviews, smirking after each loss, he just comes accross that way to me... take a look for yourself.

he basically got his last 2 jobs based on being an employee for SAF,... and then look what he's actually done and how he's approaced the jobs... mony for old rope methinks as a manager,... but he may still be a good youth coach... not impressive IMHO :shifty:

"I wouldn't have a problem if Van Gaal came in. After all, I've survived Felix Magath too," Holtby told Bild at the time.

Now the Germany international has a fourth club boss of the season and a familiar figure in Magath, who sent Holtby out on loan from Schalke on two occasions.

"I don't have any fear," Holtby told Sport Bild. "From my point of view, it's being hyped up right now.

"I have grown as a player and my time under Magath is already almost five years away.

"We are both in Fulham to reach one goal and that is staying up. Everything else is secondary."

Holtby admitted Magath's appointment was unexpected.

"At the weekend, I was in Denmark visiting my girlfriend's family," he added.

"I booked a flight for Sunday afternoon, but since the first training session under Felix Magath was scheduled on such short notice for Sunday morning, I had to return a day early.

"The news was of course a big surprise."

The future of Meulensteen remains shrouded in mystery.

The deposed head coach was not mentioned in the club statement announcing Magath's appointment and went on the radio minutes later to claim chief executive Alistair Mackintosh had told him that he had been ''released''.

However, Press Association Sport understands Meulensteen has not been sacked by Fulham, nor have assistant manager Ray Wilkins or first-team technical director Alan Curbishley.

The latter duo are believed to have met with Magath on Sunday evening and an update on their futures could be made later on Monday.

To be honest, Magath loves runners, and Holtby ran further than anyone else on Wednesday so hopefully now he's a bit older and fitter (insert joke here), Magath will be more fond of him

Fair enough. He loves runners, you say? He's going to love Darren Bent...

That's what I'm thinking, but the Greek guy will surely dislodge him from the team anyway. Check out the Holtby loan watch thread, I posted some miles ran from last wednesday, Fulham had 3 in the top 10

No one is to blame just fulham officials. It was always to expect that he will totally change the squad and make decisions no one can understand.

It is what magath always did where he was in full control. Yes he had success but never over a long period.
Wolfsburg and Schalke had a long time after him problems to sort his transfer business out. He burned money. He got lucky with very few. E.g. dzeko.

It is just absurd.

Isn't he playing a lot of the youth squad? He'll probably get a bit of time if it was agreed that he would try and bring them through this season.

Surely he's out of there now. No idea who they'll get.

To be fair, it's a good move for him. He probably thinks he's too good for the Championship, but he'll be given a good education on how to actually be a football manager there.

Well, he has brought in 11 new players so they might give him few extra games. Though really don't understand some of the purchases, especially free agents like Fazlic and Fotheringham. Why???

It looked like decent job for Tim until Magath brought in bunch of questionable players and they lost some of the young talent (Tankovic at least).

There is a reason why clubs in Germany learned not to have Magath in control of the transfers, he always buys way too many players and they usually are not very good.

I always thought Magath might be successful in English football based on his track record in Germany but I honestly didn't know he was one of those hard case, disciplinarian types. Reminds me of Gross. Now I realise why none of the bigger teams gave him a chance.

Only a matter of time before Fulham are looking for their millionth manager in the space of a year. A new record?
