I disagreed because I think people would leap on any female player who turned out grossly overweight for training or a game, just look at the celebrity world and the reactions in the media and on social media.
The pressure on women to be "body beautiful" is ridiculous so while it may be wrong, I'd guarantee that there would be many, many people dying to pile on.

I honestly don't think that gender has anything to do with it and if anything, a lady would fare worse. Just like they do in everyday life.

Joey fucking Barton would have a field day.

The man's a professional footballer and he's got the body of a 48 year old father of three.

I’m 47 (until I’m 48 in April…que the round up jokes) and I have less body fat than him after loosing 14 kilos during last year. Not even through that hard work, just taking care of my diet a bit and training 2-3 times a week. How on earth can a professional footballer let himself go like this????
