This was in no way a post saying dawson should be played, I would love to see him on the pitch as mentioned earlier, but I said i would take anyone over gallas. this opinion was not based on his last game, but on all his games this season. i have cringed almost every time gallas is on the ball, and been utterly shocked when he has done something good for us. it has been mentioned that we have only lost two games this season, but how many have we drawn because of our defensive errors? our whole back line did a piss poor job against Chelski, even verts had a semi game, but Gallas I think is our main issue. And just throwing this out there, but walker has not been himself this season either....could that be to Gallas being poor as well?? timing seems about right.

Poor Gallas.

I feel sorry for him as I do think overall he is a good defender. Yes I admit I got my player rating wrong yesterday when rating gallas but I still think he did have an okay game and was not our worst defender. If only our whole defence had a bit of a brain. Chelsea just were to smart for us but to be fair we are not going to be up against players like that every week.

It makes me laugh that your name is "dawsfan" and you would rather Dawson than Gallas. Dawson has and would cost us so much more than Gallas. Atleast gallas is a good footballer and has got a "footballing brain" and is pretty decent on the ball. Ok I agree Gallas is not world class and is not going to take us to that next level but he is a decent player who does a good job. I thnk gallas is a good hardworking organised defender, who gives it his all. He is better than clumsy dawson who is so shaky on the ball, no brain and just hoofs it forward. I think we should stick with Gallas untill we get some one better.

This has nothing to do with my username....as you can see I have been a member for 6 years. i would love to see Dawson play, as he is tottenham through and through, but I did say i would take anyone over Gallas. However i am glad i could make you laugh :p

I think that the two are comparable now (Dawson and Gallas).

I have never seen Gallas lose the plot forSpurs (like sitting down on the pitch) but he did Saturday. Gallas had a stinker and let it get to him because he sets such high standards for himself. I hope he either gets over it quickly and gets his head on the game or Dawson comes in.

O.k. Gallas made a couple of mistakes on Saturday but was otherwise not that bad. His clearance for the first goal was of schoolboy proportions; never clear the ball back into the danger zone. The rest of the defence were no better - Vertonghen lost the ball leading to the second goal and Walker was completely mugged for the fourth.

Before you heap all the blame on Gallas, consider the protection the back four received from our midfield. Sandro was invisible, Huddlestone immobile and Sigurdsson woeful. Our midfield was completely overrun putting additional pressure on the defence.

Bear in mind that Gallas was MoM at Old Trafford and has been pretty good this season; definitely better than Caulker. Replacing Gallas with Dawson would be madness especially as Dawson needs an experienced player beside him. Don't forget Dawson's mistake against Panathinaicos. And suggestions that Naughton should play at left back so that Vertonghen could return to the middle are equally wide of the mark. Naughton is very right footed and was cruelly exposed against Reading. I'd like Naughton to be given a run in the team but at right back instead of Walker. Hopefully Benoit will soon be fit, but until then we need to keep Vertonghen at left back and Gallas at centre-back..

You say you would like to see Dawson play but how many game's would he cost us if he started? Gallas is a better footballer overall than Dawson and a better defender. I said Gallas is not going to take us to that next level but he can do a good job and I would much prefer him than Dawson untill we get some one better. To be fair all of our defence were poor on sat like someone said Vertoghen was sloppy in parts and was in fault as was caulker and walker so why are you just blaming Gallas? He can do a job, he really was not the worse defender at the weekend.

While admittedly he did have a nightmare on Saturday, I actually think you're being a bit harsh there mate. When the 4th goal went in, Gallas had the ball in his hands and motioned to Peter Kay style 'ave it', by booting the ball high and far up the pitch. Right at the last second he changed his mind, caught the ball and just simply looked skywards, before rolling it up the pitch. I was actually quite pleasantly surprised.

I am not blaming gallas for everything, but from what i have seen this season he has been less then good, in most of his games. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree, as this could get well heated and i do not want to put that much effort into defending my opinion.

But he has played well in recent games. Like every one has said he was MOTM at OT. Dawson is not the answer.

I to believe Gallas has become a liability his best game to date has been ManU away. when Beniot Assou-Ekotto recovers from his injury I'd had Caulker Vertonghen as my CB pairing also think Walker being dropped might actually help him.

You didn't watch last year's cup semi then?

Yeah, but it wasn't the same yesterday. The cup semi last year was just humiliating and frustrating for everyone, yesterday he was the most pissed off. Still, it's the sign of a winner, and I like the fellas attitude.
