If he's off I just hope he leaves with class. The sour taste that Modric left is still there, so please Gareth, don't start pushing for a move and acting up. I for one will respect him so much more if he leaves an untarnished memory of his years at Spurs. Don't soil our memories by acting up.

Watching Ssn this morning at 9am and not a single mention of bale in their transfer round up. Very strange not a mention of him for the first time in 2 weeks.

I don't often post, but this Bale speculation is driving me nuts. I would be so gutted if he was to leave.
My son absolutely adores the player and I would feel more gutted for him.
He already has his heart set on the new FIFA 14 game with the famous "Bale in a Spurs shirt" cover.

The Sun reporting that Bale signed players shirts "in an emotional farewell" before they travelled to Monaco.
Is this being reported anywhere else?

Unfortunately I am resigned to losing him, mainly down to the fact that THFC have not come out with any statements.
I am sure a "not for sale" statement would have been made by now, if any bids had been rejected (subject to any actual bids being existent).

My only hope is that they are trying to get a deal done which wont come into effect until the Summer 2014.
A pre-agreement for next season ... Give us another season Gareth and we will kick some ass this season :sneaky:

Maybe even Sky are getting bored with the whole story (or non story?)

I've always liked Le Tiss. He became a club legend at Southampton, he knows what he's saying. He's right, with the squad we're building we're on the verge of something huge.

i am more interested in players coming in than those leaving, they are no longer part of the club anymore and are of little interest.

Yeah, I'd agree. The rest will probably go into the new development. And/or clearing outstanding debts.

The big question is, how much of Bale's fee have we already spent? It seems coincidental that we happen to pick this month to have spent £50m+ already.
Im sure we had a transfer kitty though so I think any potential fee for Bale is irrelevant at this stage, also need to factor in we are still owed money for Modric and the sale of Caulker and potential sale of Dempsey. I think we also paid just 11mil of the 26mil up front for Soldado.

Hopefully they switch attentions to Real moving for Suarez now.

Would love that to be true

I was a big 'he's staying' claimer, have been all window, but it's beginning to look very ominous

This is now all on Levy. Anyone who thinks Bale wants to stay at this point I think is in serious denial. It's whether he does a Modric first year or he squeezes Real till they bleed money

Im at the stage now were I don't care either way, would love him to stay obviously but if he is sold the im prepared for it and will be excited to see who else we bring in.

Would be great to have some clarity on the whole situation though, it cant go on like this for much longer I wouldn't think.

I genuinely believe that the bit I've bolded is the key here, and that there have still been no bids to deny or reject.

Best scenario - we agree the terms to sell Bale in 12 months time. If Madrid want him that badly they can wait a year

I see no reason how Levy and Bale and Barnett will not settle for that.

Madrid may not but then the fee can be reduced from 100m which is what it will probably take now to 85m next year

With an agreement in place we can further strengthen squad for a push at the title whist Levy can increase our profile with Bale in our side

Yeah I agree. I'm prepared for either outcome but I did have a bit of a soppy 'watching Bale's season highlights video on loop while crying into my keyboard' evening before I reached that conclusion

I'd encourage those still firing the 'he's staying, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot' artillery to do the same. Make peace with it. As now, if he leaves, I'll be ok, but if he stays I'll be ecstatic

I fear for a lot of SC if he goes. So much emotion invested in one player
