We can definitely get them done for defamation. Making up quotes saying Levy broke a supposed 'promise' to Gareth. It (in Marca's and Madrid's minds) damages Levy's reputation, as well as Bale's in the sense that he is NOT that sort of player. He is a level headed guy, who if he wanted to move will have a word in private and not have a public outburst. Absolutely pathetic excuse of a paper. I know we have some bad media over here, but they are on a complete other level it's unreal.
Not an exclusive level sadly:

'according to Spanish paper Marca'
Marca are the origin of it, so The Sun will feel that as someone else came up with the 'quotes' they'd get away with it.
Don't disagree
Just comes to something when a paper has to copy a load of recycled bs from a shitty rag like marca to get attention.
Because of Bale; Tottenham, Under Armour and HP have all got unbelievable exposure in Times Square and therfore photos all over the internet.
The commerical implications are massive. Far greater than someone like Modric who is not marketable in the slightest. Also lets not forget that if Bale goes to Real, as good as he is, he won't be the face of La Liga and in terms of image rights, that's quite a big thing to lose.
Do you have the link to the original Modric article?Quite amusingly, here's last years Marca story:

I'm a reporter, and that is not how I work. But it is what passes for a lot of (particularly football) sports journalismEssentially you can copy another paper's piece, as long as it's re-typed in your own words. It's stupid, I know, but that's the way the journo world works.

So is that not the case? This post has been copied and is now being tweeted and retweeted by several morons as 'proof' that Marca have just recycled an old story...

Sorry, you've confused me. I pointed out that the quotes in both stories are identical. Where's the issue with that?A reporter you say? Don't they teach "fact-checking" anymore?

What is your source for Marca's 'original' Modric story from last year? Do you have a copy of the actual paper from last summer with this story in it? Have you located the article on the Marca website?
Or are you just relying on Scutch's post?
