Unfortunately for us though, the Bale out stories sell, especially with the fees that have been plucked out of someone arse

Yeah, I kinda pondered the whole fact that it's Sunday tomorrow and these stories will lead the news in their papers.
Of any day of the week, Sunday must be the worst for rumourmongering

Im in the no-sale camp but im not convinced by your maths.

could you break down that 85m income we will make to outweigh a world record transfer fee.
Sorry mate, that's just my opinion but when you look at the game today and all those foreign Yiddos in the Spurs kit and think of the global potential of merchandise sales, it's only enhanced by having Bale at the club, We are unveiling giant posters of Bale in Time Square. It doesn't make sense to sell your prized assets when the brand is going from strength to strength

Good for your kids, hope they enjoy sitting in a half empty stadium watching a mediocre team.

Because that is exactly what it will be like if we sold Bale and spent it all on the stadium.

Anyway to answer your question GreenLily.

I don't know. This is cynical and paranoid what I'm about to say but here goes.

Perhaps the 50 million etc is being put out there to mislead the fans a touch ie we go on a big spending spree now and we all think its because of uncle Joe - when in fact we are doing our business in the knowledge that Bale will be sold thereafter.

We ain't going to go shopping after we receive 80 million plus are we?

He stays, CL + Revenue from Bale merchandise, possibly equals a lot more than just the sale of Bale alone and much better for the finances of stadium, not mention the Sale of Bale in years to come etc.

It's seems like most of our fans have forgotten their arguments about Bale staying from the start of the window

So a little reminder :
-Young little baby, no rush to make the move aboard
-Daniel Levy is Daniel Levy
-Improved contract
-Being THE star of his team, playing at whatever role he wants
-AVB bromance
-He just turned 24, still many years for his peak
-Commercial deals. I mean seriously, he's STILL at the FIFA 14 cover with our shirt...
-Presenting the new KITs
-.........

What has changed??

I believe it will comes down to 2 things

I) Does RM really have 100m to fund the bid
ii) Whats Bale's decision.

Because as I see it, from club management perspective we are not ready to sell him - even by Media stories, rejecting 82m bid proves that.

So, If Bale to RM were to happen, it would be because Bale wants it.

If we doesn't turn up for wednesday training or game against Monoco, it wouldnt surprise me Bale's head is turned.

The thing is Yes 82 m is alot of money. So was 16m for Carrick, 30m for Berba, 50m for Zidane or 2m for Sheringham back in the days for that matter. Bale will probably set the world on fire for at least 6 more years. In hindsight will 82m be enough? WTF am I raving about??????? My head is gone....

Agree. We could never buy this sort of exposure it is imperative we keep him for another year. No shame or harm in selling a player but to do it before you have even tapped into his marketing worth would be criminal. I have said this elsewhere Bale is a brand keeping him could establish our brand globally far quicker.

I have no qualms in selling Bale but to do it this year will be unforgivable

Btw would Bales clothing brand scheme complicate things for him in Madrid? Maybe they have stricter rules for these things? Im clinging to some straws here...

I don't think that is the case though. Maybe your tin foil hat has developed a hole or something

I think AVB would go if that was the case and I think it would the upset team, especially the new players coming in thinking they are playing with Bale and are being told they will (Paulinho).

IMO, it would be disastrous for moral if that was to happen.
