If Bale leaves, which I now think is likely, this is the end of the club as we know it.
You obviously don't remember the 90's. Sheringham was our one star in the team! And he left for Utd!!! Guess what, we survived. Look where we are now. Hardly a one man team – Loris, Verts, Paulinho, Sandro, Lennon, probably Soldado, Dembele) Not too shabby :)

If we get 90m-100m (ridiculous figures), who should we get? I say Suarez but I don't think he would come here.

Oh Bale has done a great deal. Just because Barnett is the guy who has been infiltrating the media with all this propaganda doesnt means its not from Bale. Barnett is his mouth piece. There is no way Barnett would have acted in the manner that he has done if Bale didnt approve.

If Bale didnt - then Barnett should be hung drawn quartered but first fucked up the arse by a big gigantic hot cactus.
All-in-all, it's all good. Ideally keep bale another year; but the worst that can happen is we sell him for 100-125mill. That's the worst thing that can happen.

Not gonna sell him anyway. DL not gonna fuck off the brands with his image all over them, just not gonna happen.

Hmm? Have I missed something here?
I have the impression, in a Spurs forum that, THFC or Bale has said something to confirm what the press and Real are saying.
Oh, wait, what's that they've said? Zero, nil, nothing. Just silence from our side.

Haha, would be funny to be in the trenches with some of you guys!

So according to SSN the bid of up to 85M was made a week ago. So if Spurs rejected it, maybe thats why Marca have upped the ante and are writing all the rubbish we have witnessed this week.

Interesting, considering most of the ITK has suggested that no bid has been made.

For all any of us know, they haven't made any official bid anyway. Jeez!

Why??? It's all propaganda. Real are famous for it. The press feed off of it.
And don't say "no smoke without fire", that's what they want you to think!

This place must be a laugh for any other teams fans!

For me, the most important thing we could do IF we sell Bale is to buy Lamela. Lamela, Soldado, Chiriches, Paulinho and Chadli is a good window. I'm sure we would add one or two more, but for me, that's still a side capable of competing for a CL spot.

We should remember that in 2011/12 Bale scored 10 goals and had 14 assists. We managed to barely miss out on 3rd and obviously missed out of CL due to a shitty display by Bayern. The difference between 11/12 and 12/13 was the fact that Adebayor was providing some quality displays at striker for us.

If we can bring in Lamela, he can probably put out a similar goal/assist tally from the right and Soldado could match what Adebayor did in 11/12 but with more goals as opposed to assists. Add in the other additions and I still think we have an incredibly talented squad.

Losing Bale would suck, but I think so long as we bring in Lamela and maybe another one or two players with the money (not including Soldado) we really could be alright and it shouldn't be all doom and gloom.

It sucks to lose a match winner like Bale, but there are ways to at least ease the blow and keep us right where we have been.

Ridiculous to say its the end. The Club will always be much bigger than any player.

However I believe we'll regress on the pitch this season if we sell Bale. I just don't believe we'll spend a lot to bring in the quality we would need to fill the void - Levy breathes value and there won't be much about when everybody knows how much money we'll have/likely to receive etc

That is why it would be better us to deal next season if he wants to go. We have already spent a lot in incomings based on him staying, with Soldado, that would be £50 million already.

It would seriously damage us now, if we sold.

Bale was extraordinary last season and Defoe and Ade were dire. If Bale was to go (don't think he will) I believe we will be more cohesive on the pitch anyway. We must remember it was a major transitional season and we were extremely lucky that Bale pulled us through, but with our current signings and just one decent additional striker, I think we could be fine. Surely Ade and Defoe couldn't be as bad two seasons in a row? Surely?!
