Still feel the 'anything can happen' quote was unnecessary. It's stating the obvious. Barca would sell Messi for £5 billion. It just weakens our stance ever so slightly and leaves a gap for the media to exploit etc.

I would fathom it's suggestive that our official stance is still meet these demands or fuck off.

Whilst that's not a bad thing as they probably won't comply, I just worry Perez will get more and more desperate and cave in right at the end of the transfer window. All of a sudden, Levy has an astronomical bid on his hands he always planned to take but there is no time to get in adequate replacements?

Haha, I would love that to be true and there was ITK saying Barrett and Levy were close. I'll just go with it as we're currently riding the positive SC wave atm.

You would not believe how things like this happen.

Not that I am in any way ITK on this issue, but have coached football professionally here in South Africa for a few years......no morals whatsoever in the game.

To be honest, "anything can happen in football" is just another one of AVB's favourite things to say. Regularly escapes his lips. ;)

It doesn't fully slam the door, but it's given me hope at least.

Why do we have to go through this shit every fucking summer? It's probably still going to drag on right to the end of the window whichever way things go and it's at best casting a shadow over our preparations and at worst damaging them. I hate Real Madrid

Only thing that concerns me is, if this as the plan why didn't Bale travel?
He's busy with ongoing consultations regarding his girlfriends 2 year mobile phone contract extension, we're hoping it's resolved in time for the first game of the season.

"The player is our player, and he is not for sale" AVB on SSN

"We've allowed conversations with Real confirmed by their coach, i think wrongly. The only thing we have communicated is he's not for sale"

"In football anything is possible, what we have communicated so far is that we are not willing to concede to their interest in the player"

"We signed an agreement last year, of good will and respect. We're not willing to concede to their tactics about the player"

Cannot see this as a negotiating tactic - I think we told them to put up and shut up by a deadline tonight), and that any offer (if made) was unacceptable ot alternatively no bid was actially made.

i read that as Bale is definitely staing this season.
