What facts? Marcas, or AS, or Real's;)

The fact that Bale has not come out and said anything. If he wasnt interested in a move to Real he could have come out and said "I am flattered to be linked with a club of Real Madrid's stature, but I am very happy at Spurs and there is no chance that I would want to move this summer". Or something similar.

The other fact is that Real are bothering to spend so much time trying to force something to happen. Could you see Real spending the whole of August to crack Levy, then on the last day of the TW they finally agree a world record for Bale, after which the sit down with Bale and he says "not interested, I want to stay at Spurs"? I think Real are 100% certain that Bale wants to go.

I am not sure that Bale will leave, but I am sure that he wants to leave.

I believe having Bale away from the squad is the best thing at the moment until we know whats happening. I think he will leave, but we will tell Madrid it has to happen at the price we want, and before the Palace game. Up to this point we can get the players signed we need and move on from the first competitive match if Bale is gone!

Sky's 'source' is probably someone like Bale's second cousin twice removed who hasn't seen him since a 2004 family reunion.

Either that or it's totally made up. Probably totally made up.
Their source is bales agent.this is the propaganda that was mentioned in the latest itk from jasper.
Jonathon Barnett and the stellar group are a fucking disgrace.

No reason for Bale to say anything, so he won't. He is developing into a 'global' brand and any comments from him would be harmful one way or another. I don't think he'll ask for a transfer either for the same reason - it would make him look bad. The ball is in RM's court to make an offer DL and Joe Lewis would accept - so far they either haven't come close or haven't bid at all.At present RM are just whipping up the hysteria, but Spurs are holding all the aces.

I know what you are trying to say. But at the end of the day none of it is fact, it is conjecture and bloody lies. The reason Bale hasn't said anything is because his agent is saying it all. Bale has probably been told to keep schtum(spelling).

One thing that gives me a lot of hope in all of this, is just how long this has been dragging on for. I have a hunch that if we were interested in taking the money on this we would have done so by now. I mean, it's literally been months, DL isn't naive enough to wait until the last week or so (hell, even the last month) of the window. If, and I mean IF, he felt RM were genuinely interested and a deal could have been agreed upon, I'd assume there would have been a very real negotiation by now, most likely with a time limit. But all we seem to know for sure is that we are reluctant to even consider serious talks. DL doesn't want to flirt around with RM, he wants solid offers and the chance perhaps at a tangible deal. RM are courting not only Bale, but the club as well, without ever really leaning in for the proverbial kiss.

.. I really wouldn't be surprised if Bale signs an improved contract in the next few days with buy-out clause of around the 100-120 million mark with a first refusal from Madrid. That, I think would make the most sense for everyone. It would allow Madrid time to conjure but the finances for next year, give us a proper go at reaching the CL and Gareth gets a year of an improved healthy salary with the added incentive of leaving as a club hero if he can bring us a trophy or qualification for the CL.

All complete speculation obviously ;)

If I was the management, I'd get Gareth in tomorrow morning, sit him down and say, "we aren't going to sell you, we are building a team around you and ask you to give your all for one more year and see what we can achieve. We've shown you we are serious at securing a top 4 finish, if not make an attempt at the title and you are a huge piece of that jigsaw."

We need a draw a line in the sand moment ASAP so that the club can move forward

SO AVB briefs the world regarding our position on Bale last night. Yet he'll be the last to know if he's sold?

That doesn't cut the mustard with me - in fact I don't think that would wash with anyone.

Can people not understand that Bale could be conflicted here? He may want to leave, but may also want to stay too. He has a hard choice, not just for himself, but his very young family and very young daughter. I still say he'll be happy to stay and play his football here if he does. Let me ask you this. If you take out all the politics and media drumming, Real Madrid IS one of the biggest clubs in world football. There is no getting away from that. I'd imagine every single footballer starting out their careers dreams of playing for one of the biggest clubs, Madrid being one.

If he goes, then we will have had the privilege to watch a star rise while at our club. If he stays, we have the biggest chance for such a long time to do something special and challenge for the league.

I read it that his preference is to move now. However that doesn't mean he wouldn't be content enough to stay here for another season if the move doesn't materialise.

The media would have you think he'll lose the will to live if he doesn't get a move to Madrid now. These life changing situations are not always black and white.

The thing people need to remember is (until now) Bale has had a great relationship with the club. Other players may burn bridges and want to leave because of how they've been treated. Bale has been treated like a God and theoretically be happy to stay and play for us if no move materializes.

Because it would be used against the club, and Bale would be forced to hand a transfer request in and that would lower the fee, amongst many other reasons which smarter people than me will probably state.

if bales preference is to leave then let it be known!.. sure psg, anhzi etc would deal at £100 mil up front... that would fuck Madrid & bale would then have a choice made of his own making.
he's still under contract to thfc & they decide if & when he's available & at what price.

Hm, that seems like reasons for him to keep schtum if he wanted to leave, which I can see. But if he wanted to stay and Spurs dont want to sell, why would anyone need to hand in a transfer request?

Lets just agree to disagree. My personal opinion, looking at this whole saga from the sideline, is that it looks like Bale wants to leave.
