There goes my theory of weather damaging it.
Could just be on a cycle, maybe? Like they'll change posters every now and then to keep it fresh.
To a...generic poster?

I have some ever-so-slightly concerning news.
A mate at work (my job is in Times Square) has just texted to say they've pulled down the huge NBC Gareth Bale poster and have replaced it with a generic football one. I'll get a picture and post it once I get there.
I'm assuming they're just playing it safe, but I really liked & felt proud seeing him up there.
Now I'm sad.

It might have just been the end of a contract. Lord knows how much that billboard cost them to put up there.

Why does it have to mean anything at all? it's advertising space, no? Advertising space is purchased for a certain amount of time & then, when that time is up, the advertising space is purchased by someone else. What's to say our time isn't now up?
I'm maybe naive, but how would the people behind Times Square advertising board, know of a deal that he's sold before we do.
I see it, as maybe the contracts run out, or they've taken it down as a precautionary.
I've worked in Times Square for about 8 years and once stuff goes up, it stays. I can't think of a single poster that's been up this short amount of time - *especially* when it's advertising a coming TV event/season premiere. Why would you change it this close to the start of the season unless it's one of the reasons I posted above (that they know something or it's not generating the positive reaction they're after)?
This,it was unveiled on the 8th July, exactly 28 days ago......seems like a normal amount of time to rent the space for.Why does it have to mean anything at all? it's advertising space, no? It depends on who they put up next, but it really makes ZERO sense for them to only highlight a Tottenham player, especially since in terms of notoriety Tottenham is not high up on the list in the US.But perhaps with that particular advert being NBC's advert for PL football, it's a case of alternating different pictures of different players from different teams etc etc? It's not GB/THFC that they're advertising is it
