He's not a legend. He had ONE season as a top top truly world class player with us, then buggers off.

If he would have stayed another season or two, then he would deserve that acclaim. Hoddle.... he is not.

Anything less than a world record bid is failure imo, as he has never been quoted going for less than a world record the whole summer and letting him go for less is failure imo

As this nonsense of Ronaldo's ego isnt our fault and before Bale skipping training this wouldnt of happened
A substance over style. If we walk away getting another Madrid player on the cheap and means missing out on a world record I would imagine we are getting the best of the deal. In negotiations it is give and take. If Madrid wanted something like that, I would imagine they paid a premium for it. Getting the entire fee up front is huge in itself.

Ah its a damn shame we never got to see him with a proper striker when he played on the left, he couldve gotten 12-15 assists with soldado up front

All the different reactions, anger, comedy, sadness etc all boil down to one thing. Bale is a unbelievable talent and one that every single Spurs fan really doesn't want to see leave. I wish him luck with his future and hope that one day he may come back.

I think it will happen late Monday, so they don't double cross us and sell 80 mill worth of players to arse, levy is a genious.

Meant to be announced today, wasn't it? It's been 'imminent' for a month. Doubt we'll agree to announce it on NLD day. Now it really is Monday or he stays IMO. Days are running out, fast.

I have a Bale 3 shirt signed with best wishes to my two lads aged 17 and 11 now. It is hanging on the wall in the room where we have sat and watched him perform amazing feats of brilliance over the last 5 or 6 years. He has always been special, even through the famous losing spell, the idea he had one good season is laughable. We will miss him, he is a Spurs legend up there with Greaves, Hoddle, Ardiles and Gazza. To finance the best team I have ever seen us have, even without him in is a unique legacy. I hope we go one and fulfil the potential we have right now. Thank you Gareth, good luck!!!

Do you seriously think Real Madrid won't of already have the deals sewn up for out goings for an hour after bale signs for them.

Its a crying shame we can't have him for one more year. As good as I hope Soldado will be, put Bale as the main striker surrounded by the talent we have now and he'd push over 30 goals in the prem and we would be the team to beat.

I wish him all the best. We have been graced by one of the greats, I'm not about to let this summer ruin the memories I have.

Although Gareth has thrown all his toys out of the pram over this move and acted a bit unprofessional, just remember, if it wasn't for him and his goals last year then we would not even be in the Europa league this season... so it is not only the transfer money we get for him but also the European revenue we generate this year, is down to Gareth.

Thanks for the memories Gareth..

I'm just glad we waited a year after having a new manager to do the rebuild, unlike when Ramos came in. What a mess.

Have fun in Spain Bale, when Madrid have chewed you up i'm sure you can continue your successful Wales career whilst playing for AC Milan.

He was born to pay for Spurs.
