I am certain Levy has something up his sleeve for tomorrow so as to end the window on a high with the fans in positive spirits going into the season properly

What I really hope is that our rivals don't have significant days tomorrow

Now to find out who really won... Levy or Perez

the fee =...

Does it have to be announced? Are Real required to do so? I know if we had our way we wouldn't divulge it (just confirm that they'd given us a brown envelope stuffed full of Euros and run quickly in the other direction [or limp as one or two of our players are now doing after today])

GARETH BALE STATEMENT:

“I have had six very happy years at Tottenham but it’s the right time to say goodbye. We’ve had some special times together over the years and I’ve loved every minute of it.

“I would like to thank everyone at the Club, the Chairman, Board, staff, coaches and players – and most of all the fantastic fans who I hope will understand this amazing career opportunity.

“I am not sure there is ever a good time to leave a club where I felt settled and was playing the best football of my career to date. I know many players talk of their desire to join the club of their boyhood dreams, but I can honestly say, this is my dream come true.

“I am well aware that I would not be at the level I am today were it not for firstly Southampton and then Spurs standing by me during some of the tougher times and affording me the environment and support they have.

“Tottenham will always be in my heart and I’m sure that this season will be a successful one for them. I am now looking forward to the next exciting chapter in my life, playing football for Real Madrid."

Whatever, mate. Laters.

Must announce the fee for this. After all this talk of £90-100m, I reckon if we say undisclosed it will be for substantially less. Levy would be the first one to crow if we had developed and sold someone for a world record fee.

Good luck to him.

Biggest transfer of all time.

He deserves it, and we've profited hugely from the move ourselves.

Good luck Gareth! I think you will find that money and fame does not automatically bring happiness.

goodbye... we could have done with him in the team today.. but alas, he is now carlo's player.

with him, our side last season was exciting...

will not begrudge him, and credit goes to levy, baldini for ensuring that we do not begrudge him...

Yeah even though he says we have a strong squad there's no way this is the last major thing we say/do this window (not including outgoing loans)
