Guess we've been expecting this bit still doesn't make it any easier, just hope this doesn't set a precedence for the next player who throws a strop wanting his "dream move". Anyway onwards and upwards, this team is bigger than any one player so thanks for allowing us to get in some incredible talent, just hope it doesn't turn sour for you out there. COYS!

i wish him all the best , he was class and i have seen hoddle and gazza and players of this ability are rare and i feel privileged to see them and him. Thanks for the memories and the much needed cash to reinvest in our squad.

Will for sure be watching most Madrid games this season to see how he gets on.

I'm the same as the previous poster...heres wishing he will be back towards the end of his career.

Amazing timing. If we'd won, reckon they'd have held off till tomorrow?

Good day to bury bad news

Silkman on SSN, what a fucking idiot.

He reckons Southampton have a sell on clause - they don't, Spurs bought that years ago.
He reckons Spurs have done well financially but not well on the footballing side - Eriksen, Soldado, Lamela. No Baz, not at all.

If he's an agent and it's the night before Christmas, why the f is he on TV instead of dealing with clients.

They get about £2m for the FIFA solidarity mechanism since Bale was in their youth academy from 12-18

Yep - that Silkmen was like an old drunk. Who would seek advise and representation from him, I will never know.

At the beginning of the summer I didn´t think we´d sell him. I figured RM would offer around 50-60m and we´d hold onto him for an extra season.

But not only have we been offered a stupidly inflated price we´ve actually genuine top quality players in Soldado, Paulinho and Lamela.

The club is always bigger than the player. Bale has been excellent for us but he wasn´t in my top 5 favourite players (now, not all time) so I´m fine with his departure.

Gutted. Just gutted.

I wonder how Grey Fox (or whoever it was) would like his bollocks cooked.

Villas-Boas wishes Bale success at Madrid

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has wished Gareth Bale well after the winger's move to Real Madrid was confirmed on Sunday. Speaking after Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Arsenal, which was sealed by Olivier Giroud's strike midway through the first half, Villas-Boas was quick to stress that the club would move on despite Bale's departure.

Bale - who signed a six-year deal at Real after joining on an undisclosed fee - was a key figure for Tottenham in the 2012-13 season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions, and Villas-Boas insisted that the Welshman will be fondly remembered at White Hart Lane. "We wish him all the best, he's left us with great memories from last season, which I think every Tottenham fan cherishes," Villas-Boas said. "But he has moved on and we move on as well." Tottenham have recruited heavily in anticipation of Bale's move to the Spanish capital - bringing in the likes of Roberto Soldado, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen – but they were unable to break down a dogged Arsenal side. Jermain Defoe was denied an equaliser as Wojciech Szczesny produced a stunning save to keep out the England international's volley late in the second half, as

Arsenal held on for victory. Despite his side's loss, Villas-Boas was still satisfied with their display. "I think (in) the first half they had good chances. It was always a competitive game with chances for both teams," he told SkySports. "We kept on trying to get the equaliser, drawing was never going to be enough, but they had that clinical ability to score. "(There was) great spirit from the players to approach the game in such a courageous way, to expose Arsenal in the second half." Etienne Capoue, a recent recruit from Toulouse, was taken off on a stretcher with an ankle injury, and Villas-Boas said that the Frenchman's absence may be a lengthy one. "He is being x-rayed now, it doesn't look too good,"

I can't pretend I'm not gutted. Having the best player play for my team, him also being welsh, the fact he my sons favourite player.

I wish him well and hope he absolutely smashes it in la liga

85 million quid this is our chance if we have spent it well and have a manager that can get the best out of them we will be laughing by end of season, lets hope theres a buy back clause because he wont last more than 18 months out there with the egos different style of football and hatchet men.
