According to a report he only takes home 200 gs a week (Spanish tax) if he was to come here on a 200gs a week contract due to our tax he would only be on 100gs. Would he be happy with that ?

According to others he's on a contract worth £650k a week.

What’s even crazier is some fans wouldn’t.

I don’t know if people wouldn’t - I think most people can just see there’s almost zero chance of it happening.

What I was mocking, is the sneering tone of some on here - passive aggressively mocking those who get their hopes up about it.

The question is more complex than simply the number of thousands transferred from the club to his account. For the financial aspect of his career and overall income into his bank account, he must stay current, relevant, popular, in demand and marketable. Ideally he'd be able to do that at Madrid, but only if he is a regular starter and creates headlines like for CL final. If Madrid can't promise him that position, he'd be financially better off from making less at a renowned club that would play him more often.

There’s no end to our creative reasons why he’d join.

You are being difficult and overly sarcastic.
1) You are quoting a post that's not even close to mentioning Tottenham.
2) If Bale spends one more season largely on the bench, his personal market value in terms of sponsorships will decline. Conversely, if he gets back into the media headlines week in, week out, he'll personally benefit financially. Bale's sponsorship income is huge, and he needs to think about how to manage that. Those money won't just follow him around.

But, don't feel bad, I understand that it's more important to be sarcastic on an online forum than to admit to grains of actual truth in views that are different than your own.

And you are reading far too much into a throwaway comment. I find a bit of fresh air does wonders.

It's not that people are getting their hopes up, I get that. He's a world class player, I understand why people want him back.

It's that no matter how negative a media update regarding why it would be nigh on impossible, some of the COB(Yep I am rolling with that from now on) have managed to still managing to spin it. I mean the report on how much he would be demanding as far as salary is concerned(might be true might not), has been countered with perhaps we could get him on loan? and maybe Real will pay part of his wages? Some of these in hope theories make the bible look like it was written by David Attenborough ffs.

Greavesie called it a funny old game. It’s more a new money game now. Romantic notions tend to be squashed by reality.

I think I've cracked it...

The Severn bridges on both the M4 and M48 have reduced their toll charges from £6.70 per car to £5.60 to enter Wales.

This is the first step before the tolls are totally abolished by the end of July this year.

I think the money saved visiting his family in native Wales could well offset wage reduction post Madrid.

I mean, c'mon...it's no coincidence is it...we've already had an afternoons debate about the end of July being before August.

It's falling into place...why didn't I see the obvious sooner.
