I honestly don't know what to think with our transfer dealings this summer.

I know we leave stuff later than most, but it's been eerily quiet this window. I think old nude nut has got a rabbit up his sleeve, but I dunno.

He's gotta be pretty relaxed in reality. He is totally aware that this is a MASSIVE season for us. Probably the biggest in recent memory with everything factored in.
I can't see him not delivering, because largely he always has.
Not to mention that historically in the summer window, we are normally quite busy, and even though we wait a while, we do get quite a few ins and outs, usually.

Something seems/feels different this summer. It wouldn't surprise me if there is a potentially massive signing in the works. Yet it wouldn't surprise me either if we start next season with the same squad we finished the last with.

Absolutely riveting. I can't for the life of me think which way it'll all end. At least we don't have too long to wait now.

One thing is almost certain though - we wont sign Bale. Zaha and Martial seems to be the top semi realistic targets we know of.

What a season. I don't care if he is 5 years and about 10 injuries down the road i would still do anything to see him doing this again.

Poch was asked about Bale in his post-Barca presser and it’s reported as “(chuckles) I think it’s impossible”

I’m choosing to focus on the chuckling and the word “think” because I’m an idiot and the word impossible makes me sad

Question is.... why did the reporter ask after Bale? Seems rather strange non sequitor. Poch response was also a bit odd... u would think that were we not interested, he simply would have said something even more dismissive, even incredulous. I know there is no chance, but straw clutching is what I do!! Especially with this mindfuck of a transfer window!!!

I very much doubt he is relaxed, not only is he trying to buy players for Poch, he has a Stadium that isn't finished and already delayed enough that we only have 1 of our 1st 9 games in it. if there are bigger delays than we know about, the NFL might not be too happy, and he is also trying to get a sponsor for the stadium. if he wasn't already bald he would be by this Xmas

if promises have been made to Poch, the only way he can possibly keep them all by the way this window has gone is spend 50m+ more than he wants or can, and then hope those players want us. No one knows what he has tried for, I've only heard an approach for de Ligt goalpost moved massively and they want to keep for a season as a loan + Raiola, Martial but turned away because they don't want to sell to a rival. Grealish sounds like Villa held-out till the rescue team came along, plus Levy not wanting to pay over the top for a championship team, and Zaha who I believe we have agreed a fee but await the players choice.

the thing is the only player we have been linked with that might take us up a level is Bale. Had RM been 4-0 up and didn't bring him on that night, and ZZ and Ronaldo not departing, then Bale would of wanted out and to who know one really knows, but us would of been an option

Everytime I see 'Spurs Bale', it reminds me how daft he looks these days with his full 'Planet of the Apes Dr Zira' look.

If he did come back, I'd hope he left the mane in spain

Good point on our luck in transfer targets:-

Bale - I believe we were in for him, then he scores an overhead kick to win the CL, Zidane leaves and Fiat end up buying Ronaldo for Juventus making him top dog. How's your luck?

Grealish - Perfect, club on brink of financial ruin, selling their biggest asset is the quick fix. He wants us, we want him, all the cards ours. Then they get bought out by arsenal fans and potentially want to keep him at all costs. How's your luck?

Martial - Agent gets the impression he can leave. Mourinho wants him out. Get him to visit new stadium etc and he wants in. Utd despite wanting one of our top players refuse to deal despite doing a player swap 6 months ago. How's your luck?

Zaha - according to ITK have agreed a fee and offered a better financial package to Chelsea, who aren't in CL and are in transition, and potentially have still lost out. How's your luck?

De Ligt - all looking good, sensible young player and club we have good relations with then gets into bed the super c%*%/agent Mino Raiola who tries to create an auction. How's your luck?

Based on the above is why I'm very concerned with how we are going to bring in 3 quality players in less than two weeks, shit is never easy for us!

Bale - was never going to happen
Grealish - our own stupid fault
Martial - was never going to happen
Zaha - no way he chooses Chelsea if we offer a better package
