I think this is going to be an interesting sprint to the close of the window after the World Cup.

You are basically looking at 2 1/2 weeks for the English clubs to conclude their business - which is not much time at all for all the moving parts to fit into place.

Initially, I was in favor of the FA moving the transfer deadline up to the start of the season, but given the World Cup this summer, I think it might have been more prudent to start that policy next season.

I agree but in fairness the clubs have known this has been coming for nearly a year and should be prepared for it. I’m quite interested to see how levy uses it to leverage deals actually.

Sky have Chelsea and Barcelona discussing willian transfer. I wonder if that means Conte is staying? Willian was the one who posted than Instagram photo with conte blocked out of the team photo

So this is how transfers work:

Sam Johnstone: Man United -> West Brom

Lee Grant - replaces Johnstone: Stoke -> Man United

Adam Federici - replaces Grant: Bournemouth -> Stoke

All announced at about the same time. It takes a while for all the pieces to fall in place even for squad players.

I thought Juventus had a wage structure similar to ours? Can't see how they would finance Ronaldo and keep there top players happy on less than half what he would be on.
