I’m not pissy about Malcom going to Barca, I just think he’s not necessarily made the smartest choice for his medium/long term career.

I think its a pretty smart deal. He's going to get to learn from Messi, form a duo with Dembele to become the future of Barcelonas attack. He would compete with Under & Kluivert at Roma in a team that is constantly in transition.

Doesn't that article state that all the Barca stuff was still prior to his transfer to Ajax? I can't possibly imagine Barca were willing to pay what we did if he was going to the second team. Its apples to oranges. I know its done sometimes, but I'm not going to fault the guy for joining Barcelona.

makes a lot of sense though - why use one of your overseas slots in a position that is going to see minimal game time? We are under HG pressure so wouldn't it be better to replace Gazz with a veteran / journeyman homegrown keeper?

No I get that, I just found the fact that it was Rob Green really funny. He admitted at the announcement he was considering retiring before the call came.
